Feeling restless with my finances so I have rounded my account down and paid off £12.33 towards my 0% CC. I have also changed the DD amount from the minimum payment (next month would have been £24.64) up to £40 per month. I will increase this again in April.

  • That's good. It will start to shift it earlier.
April is a key month for me too, I don't want to be counting down to it and not living, but I am excited for it to appear. I might add it to my signature as well.

How is your little boy? Hope he is better x

  • DS seems to have woken up all fresh, he did have a long lie in this morning but now seems back to himself. I am so happy to have him feeling better, he really hasn't been able to enjoy the break from school so far.

I feel completely stuck on the finance front, there is absolutely nothing I can do until 6th Jan. I hate just waiting around to be able to make a dent. I am feeling quite positive this morning though, 2018 will be my year.

I feel like this for my debt too. x

He's much better thanks Nicnak, back to himself. Its hard isn't it, you don't want to wish your life away but you also just want the debt to be gone. I suppose that's where getting the balance right is key, if you don't get the balance right then you will either have a blow out and be back to square one or you will have a miserable time debt busting.

  • Yep, agree. Finding the balance will be key to its success. let's hope we find it together x

Time for a little reflection on 2017 I think, it is that time of year after all.

Finance wise I have around £2000 less debt than I did in April 17, considering I wasn't hugely concentrating on my finances over most of that time I think I have done ok. 2018 will be the big year for me and I am more determined than ever to become debt free.

Uni is something I am struggling with on the motivation front, I am getting there slowly and I think once the next term starts I will feel a lot better, just need to get these exams out of the way, do what I can grade wise and then really push myself in my new modules.

Family life is great, I do think I need to create more of a social life for myself so that I have something fun to do on the days where I don't have DS. I spent new years with an old friend which has made me realise that I am completely in love with someone who wants to be just friends, we spend time together quite regularly and I don't want to stop spending time with him but I think I might have to take a step back at least for a little while.

I have lots of goals for the year ahead and I will achieve them but I also think that I have a lot of work to do on myself, I think focussing on my debt has been a good distraction but I feel broken and I have to stop avoiding repairing myself.

This post doesn't sound very positive but I am feeling positive and I feel like I am turning a corner for lots of reasons. Happy new year to anyone reading, I hope 2018 brings you love and happiness and that you all achieve what it is you want to achieve in the wonderful year ahead.
