No you don't. The weather is crap at this time and it costs £32.50 per person to select a seat and £60 per person for 20kg of check in luggage.

So your £283 flight is actually £343 if you want to put luggage in the hold.
  • Great link there - thank you..

Just a question - why should I not use local bars andd restaurants?

He meant that the bussed in Chinese tourists don't use local bars and restaurants. They tend to be herded around to specific places. Often to be seen following a flag carrying tour leader..

Yes, that's what I meant. Sorry, if my grammar wasn't clear.

  • Hello Again

For those of you mindly interested. I'm just keeping you in the loop as you guys really helped me with advice. So I've done my research on areas & hotels in both Bangkok & Phuket. So I have booked the Chatrium Riverside Hotel & The Deevana Plaza Resort in Phuket. Good reviews on both. Managed to get good rates for Chatrium and a fantastic deal for the Deevana by buying a Groupon (Australia) Voucher - just ever so slightly risky but I've done my research and I'm confident all will be well.

Phuket has many many choices of hotels and I what I could have spent on a luxurious hotel we've decided to save and go on trips.

When you guys was giving advice I was just on the start of looking around for Thailand options, but reading everything now it all makes sense.

So Patong will be our base, but I do plan to look around Phuket and go to a couple of Islands as day trips.

Now planning what to do. Really looking forward to it now. Thanks again for all your help & advice!
