Spam E-Mail Nightmare

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone can help with this problem. I have been receiving about 60 spam e-mails a day, most quite sexual and disgusting, (and I have three children).
I have tried using a spam website, who suggested opening each individual e-mail and then reporting it to them. All of them came back, saying they couldn't find the ISP to report them and this has also resulted in receiving more spams then ever.
I just don't know what to do for the best?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Who is your email account with, don't want your full email address just the detail after @******.***
Most have some form of spam trap and its just a matter of configuring the software. Please provide more detail.0 -

as above and in addition log on to btinternet mail and select options ensure Spamguard is turned on and also mark all the unwanted email as spam as it arrives the software uses information that you supply.
Spam Filter
SpamGuard Plus is ON [Turn SpamGuard Plus OFF - Reset Filter - What's this?]
For messages SpamGuard Plus identifies as Spam:
Save these messages in the Bulk Folder for 1 week2 weeks1 month
More Bulk Folder options for POP users
Mark Spam + Not Spam
When I mark a message as Spam, in addition to deleting the message:
Add the sender's email address to my blocked addresses list
When I mark a message in the Bulk folder as Not Spam:
Move the message to my Inbox
Image Blocking
Don't block any images
Block images in messages that SpamGuard thinks are spam
Block all images until I've had a chance to look it over0 -
And just as an anecdote for me personally (I get zero spam without any filtering switched on):
I have my own domain and I give different sites I sign up with their own unique address (e.g. amazon@mydomain.co.uk). These are all forwarded to a single address (can be as random as you like @yourdomain.co.uk) that is never given out as an email address. So far I've had a handful of scam emails. All I did was delete the addresses they were sent to (if they're important then I replace them, e.g. amazon2@mydomain.co.uk). Also MOST importantly in looking at which address any spam type email is sent to I know which company gave out my details. You can then complain to that company (it is illegal to give out addresses to spammers without your permission). Last time I did that (it doesn't happen often) the IT manager emailed me himself to thank me because it lead them to finding a virus infected server on their system sending out spam without their knowledge. So it basically helped stop all the spam it was sending out to everyone else as well."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Thanks to everyone who replied to my e-mail regarding spam. I'll get the old man on the job tonight to sort it out. Think you're all brilliant!0

Have to say I have one of my email accounts with btinternet.com, and they have a built-in spam filter which works really well - probably only get about one dodgy one a week through at most. Rest go to the Bulk folder.0

The bad thing about spam filters is the false positives so you have to go through the spam/junk folder searching for legitimate emails just in case, which to me defeats the whole point. I've yet to see a spam filter that doesn't pick false positives."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

That's why I prefer systems that let you set up a whitelist/blacklist in addition to the spam filter - I don't know whether BT does that? It means I never have to check my spam folder.Stompa0
