Hi
Im looking to buy a car through stoneacre the finance option. The car is priced at £5895 Vauxhall Corsa 14 plate 23,985 miles 1 previous owner, and they have offered me it at £37pw got them down from £49. Also they try selling me 5 year gurantee at 995 which im not going to take as ive heard its not worth it. They say there warranty is only 30 days i am not happy with this...can i try and get them to 12 months warranty? £30pw and first servicing in with it all? And how do people feel about the 5 year guarantee? Could really do with some help here. Thank you.

How did they do that? By extending the credit period?0 -
at £6k purchase price (never mind interest charges - your getting close to brand new city car territory - may be better option than 2nd hand car with 24K on the clock?0

Two questions,
1) How long is the finance over, cost per week is helpful for budgeting but can hide some crappy deals. Also is there a larger deposit and final payment?
2) When was the car first registered? It may still be under the Vauxhall warranty.0 -
This is over 5 years. It has always been over 5 years weather it was £49 or £37 a week. I think they just wanted my service that they kept lowering it. I am thinking of asking them to reduce price on car so that im only paying £30pw. And i hadnt thought about getting a new car as my limit on per month is £160 and newer cars are more expensive with added interest it would be 10,000 plus. My interest may be a little higher than average due to my credit history. Really undecided what to do. I thought the low mileage was good.0

There is no deposit and upto now nt aware of a final big payment. But i will check that if i go in again. I assume and think it was first registered in 2014 so 3 year manufactur warranty has ran out. They printed me a hpi report off too.0

£37*52*5 = £9620
£47*52*5 = ££12220
£10k for a 14 plate Corsa is a little "salty"! - i don't want to be overly critical but just point out full cost of your purchase
Dacia do a entry level Sandero for £6k which if you could get on bank finance or even Manufacturers own - may work out cheaper for you0 -
Do you really want to be paying £120 a month on an 8 year old car?
Sounds like an expensive deal.
I think you should consider buying something much cheaper.0 -
So over 5 years you are paying £9620 at £37pw. I would think carefully about getting locked into a 5 year finance deal on an already used vehicle.
You will also almost inevitably find some repairs are needed over that time so need to budget accordingly. Remember to include an annual service and mot into your budget as well as tax.
Also consider looking at the Network Q website as buying from a Vauxhall dealer brings some additional benefits such as a 12 month warranty and possibly some manufacturers backed finance.0 -
It is a 2014 plate so its not 8 years old its 3. I will take all your advice into consideration and have contacted vauxhall direct to see what i can get through them. Its i dont know if i will be accepted for finance anywere else. Thanks again0
