Hi Sj62!
We're going away for the weekend and normally I make sure the house is (sort of) spik and span before we go but my heart's not in it today; in truth it hasn't been all week, so I'm struggling to get things done. *sigh* I'll have to get a move on because I've realised I've lost the paperwork I need for this weekend's event so I've got to unearth that from goodness knows where.
I did the sensible thing and packed this morning so at least that's done, the sitting room is considerably cleaner than it was, the two letting rooms are ready and Kelpie's and Devil Cat's favourite petsitter is booked and briefed so we've done all of the things that really matter. A bit of dust never killed anyone.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi Honey Bear Thank you for the lovely welcome!
You are absolutely right - a bit of dust never killed anyone. Hope you have a lovely weekend!0 -
Hi all
HB funny how we all like to leave the house clean and tidy before we go away. Hope you have a nice break.
So .. washing in and dw on before I went to work. Cycled to work and back and did an extra hour. Have just got down on my hands and knees and gave the kitchen floor a really good wash. Shopping delivery arrived.
Bossy good old Zoflora. Should douse DS in it, he has just walked in covered in goodness knows what after mucking out horses all afternoon. I shrieked at him not to walk into the kitchen, in fact I made him strip off in the utility. Wm on again I guess.
I really should do some more paid stuff but dont feel very motivated. It might just be fish fingers chips and beans for tea.0 -
Hello fly ladies. Hope you're all ok. I've been lurking but not posting much.
I am on holiday for a long weekend and it is the first time for weeks I've been truly relaxed. Have just had a walk with the dogs but before we left home today I did the dailies, run an errand, sorted paperwork and did the ironing.
Family will be joining us here in the middle of nowhere (Nidderdale actually) in about an hour for a celebration and I'm so excited about giving DD her surprise.
Right, enough rambling. The dogs need to eat and play (bright yellow poop at the moment due to some new chews as you were discussing this subject!).
Have a great evening everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Hi Jazee! I miss your morning posts when you're not around, so it's great o see you back again. Have a lovely holiday.
I've done as much, realistically, as I could have hoped to do today. I've even dusted some areas, swished and swiped the shower room, give the sitting room another quick going over and done the worst of the kitchen. What's interesting about it is that a few years ago I'd have been glowing with pride at how clean it was, whereas now I want it all to be sparkly, all of the time. It's good enough and I'm leaving it at that.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi jazee lovely to 'see' you xx
Kids in bed, although they are in the same bed, so no doubt there'll be much nonsense...
House put to bed so to speak, furries cleaned out and fresh bedding in. Cuppa made and cosy lights on. That's me for tonight
Have a lovely weekend everyone xxBossymoo

We're home. Got absolutely drenched today when we stopped at a NT property for a late lunch for us and a walk for Rosie. Fortunately I have discovered that, although she hates the big towel, Rosie will allow me to dry her with a small microfibre cloth, which proved quite efficient, so the soft bed she has in her travelling crate didn't get soaking wet too. I will air it in the house, though (must pop outside and fetch it before bed time). Otherwise we had a good week, with some lovely sunny intervals between mostly rather lighter showers than today's.
We have unpacked the car, I have sorted out most of the washing ready for the machine tomorrow and started putting away our unused clothes, and I have paid a visit to Mr A1д! so we now have enough food for the next few days.
I have also read my emails, ordered a textbook that I need for my course this term, and caught up with the thread.
Welcome Sj62
Have a great family party, Jazee.
Hope you're enjoying your weekend away, HB.
Tomorrow I have to go to Cathedral City for lunch with some of my fellow students, then we are going to the "graduation" of the two who have just finished the course. DH has just realised that, because he is dog sitting, he won't be able to go and play on the railway. Oh dear
Hope everyone has a good weekend x0 -
Morning all
Off to do a few hours of extra work this morning so just having a cuppa & getting DD sorted to go to her friend's to play. Been feeling flat and sad again, woke up feeling like something was sat on me this morning, I really hope it passes as it's not like me.
Will shove a wash on shortly before I go. Have good days all xxMFW

Yesterday, a work day, I overslept.
Today - wide awake at 6:30.
House is an utter shambles. DD goes to Uni today so I am hoping to restore order. Loads to iron, wash basket full. Ugh.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

I got in from work yesterday to find DD2 hadn't done any of the 4 jobs I asked her to do  She'd cleared off to the next door neighbours instead as she had wanted help with the school run! I'm all for helping someone out but shouldn't I be a higher priority??
So that was me in a bad mood for the rest of the evening (this isn't a one off thing so I'm not being a drama queen) I spent some time in my room, she finally did the jobs.
She's currently not working (long story) so should be helping out more but isn't
She'd left her email signed in on my laptop so yeah I looked. Good thing I did!! Seems her friend (and maybe her) has been applying for loans with my daughter as guarantor!!
Livid is not the word! I phoned her and she said that the girl didn't get a loan but that is besides the point!!
I have work all weekend so jobs will have to wait til the evening cos I cba at this morning.0
