Coat hangers

I usually hand mine in at the school jumble and in the past, have given some to the local amateur dramatics group - especially the thick suit or jacket hangers. I remember a nursing or care home advertising for some last year so that could be another avenue for you.
I sometimes think that shop assistants are asked to try and get rid of as many as possible - the amount of times that I've said that I didn't want the hanger and yet when I've got home I've discovered that it's been stuck in the bag with my purchase.0 -
I wrap a pair of old tights round a hanger and it makes a perfectly acceptable padded hanger.

Anyone any tips on How to store coat hangers?
Thanks

as others have said already either take them to a local charity shop....they always need hangers. Or pop them on Freecycle...I have done this before, just after we moved and a woman came and took a huge bag full of them. As the saying goes one man's rubbish is another man's treasure. Or something like that lol!£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0

Any ideas on storing them, rather than getting rid?

I never seem to need to get rid of them.............the plastic ones seem to break after a short time, the wire ones go out of shape (maybe because I hang too many things on them). I like the wooden ones, I know they'll last but at the minute I'm short of them.
Our local Red Cross shop had some the other year, wooden ones, that they sold in the shop. I'm surprised the charity shops don't take them -they could always sell them surely.
Oh by the way...........I remember making that blue peter christmas thing........mine looked nothing like the one on the programme................lolMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

The wooden ones are great for making peg bags out of. Can be a lovely present to give someone. This looks nice and easy. http://www.allfreecrafts.com/sewing/peg-bag.shtmlAre we still waiting to sing as hummingbirds?0

We use them for second hand uniform rail at school0

I always seem to need hangers! People in North London Freecycle never have them so I end up buying them from the shop0
