Coat hangers

Not really sure where to post this, but short of me throwing them all out does anyone have suggestions of what to do with heaps of coat hangers, plastic and metal types....various sizes...

They are driving me nuts....and I can't hoard them anymore :o

Would the local dry-cleaners appreciate a bundle? We go in with clothes, and they give them back on a hanger, gotta be getting them from somewhere!!!

I've seen them offered on Freecycle - worth a shot!
  • Leave them in a black bin liner outside a charity shop one morning before they open.

Speaking as someone who is married to a manager of a charity shop I can tell you that this will not be appreciated. You would be better off taking them to the tip - or putting them in your own bin. Too many people think they can palm rubbish off at a charity shop, which they then have to get rid of.
  • I'll have a few ^_^

Um.. try donating to a local student hall of residence? One of those things you don't really think about!

Any charity shops that are just local to you, not part of the usual chain, might be glad of them.

If you know anyone who is off to uni this term they might be glad of them.DDs always took a large bag of hangers to uni at the start of each year but we often found that when they were coming back at the end of year they had more stuff to fit in the car so we'd leave the hangers at college.
