bubbs no the only things on the desk where you pay were the mags, hifis and food diarys to be collected
I got the mag last week. Still haven't had a chance to look at it, but there's a free calendar with it which seems to have some good recipes in it. There's one for a banoffi type baked Alaska that I'm thinking of trying for Christmas.
Has anyone tried the Aldi frozen meals yet? I have a few in the freezer but not got round to them yet. Been seeing some very bad reviews about them online.
Could anyone advise me on the slow cooker? Tried a slice of the beef to see what it was like.....It wasn't very goodIt was a housekeepers cut and I had it on low for about 10.5 hours. It was very dry. Like I'd done it in the oven and left it in too long. But my sister uses the same cut and it could be on for anything up to 12 hours, and hers wouldn't be dry at all. It actually falls apart as you cut it. Majorly disappointed with mine. Dad will eat it though :rotfl:

Well done Bubbs, Whiplashy and Beanie!
Hope group went well, Lush. And does that mean new gegs?? My prescription hasn't changed for about three and a half years and I'd love a new pair of specs but can't really justify it if I don't *need* them, as I wear contacts most of the time.
Very pleased to report a 2.5lb loss this week, though it's more to do with hormones and bowels than my sterling effortsStill though, any loss next week will take me into the next half-stone bracket - I don't ever want to be back in this one ever again.
That said, today will be off plan as I'm out for dinner AND tea... must get back on it from tomorrow though as I'm away again next weekend. After that though there's no distractions til Christmas...
I've bought myself a twelve week countdown and had a little splurge on an eight week planner to see me til 2018, then a full year planner for next year, and finally a meal planner to keep in the kitchen. As usual throwing money at the problem. It's clearly worked so far...:rotfl::o:o
(Oops, missed a page! Whiplashy, stupid question but did you add some liquid to the beef when you put it in? I'm no expert on SCs but find that things always seem to be wetter than I want, not drier!)Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

I'm probably 50/50 glasses and contacts at the moment. Though I buy my specs online from glasses direct as you can choose 4 frames to have sent to you at home to try out (so can wear them longer than just a quick look in the shop mirror) and also they usually have a bogof on and if you're savvy and pay an extra £10 you can have a tint to make the second pair prescription sunniesI usually get my lenses from daysoft but mr optician doesn't like them so he's ordered me two five day trials (specsavers cheapest lenses at £16 a month and then one at £25 a month) to see what I think...that also meant I didn't have to pay £20 for my check up today! MSE win
so group...went really well. I got there early and had a little chat with the consultant, group was dead (less than 20 weighed in and only 8 stayed plus me and one other newbie who had done sw online previously) so once we got in to it all it went very quickly. I got the magazine, a 12 week countdown which I started yesterday so that I get the book next week, 2 x carrot cake hifis, a coconut macaroon box and a mocha box. I am pretty much the heaviest I've ever been though I'm definitely carrying it differently than pre baby. I need to order a journal as consultant didn't have any. I'm going to log in to the website now so may orderone dependent on postage
today:
breakfast: baked omelettes (spinach, tomato, red pepper) with baked beans and some baby potatoes
lunch: sort of speedy tomato soup (tomatoes, carrots, onion and beans) with 2 slices crustless wholemeal (most of heb)
tea: not sure yet. probably syn free baked risotto served with chicken
in the evening: options white hot choc allowing 3 syns************************************

Tete Was I supposed to add liquid?
That probably explains it so! :rotfl: I just chopped up a few carrots and an onion and put the beef on top of them :rotfl:

:rotfl: Yeah I think so! I only ever do stews in mine but I know when my granny does a joint she puts just a few teaspoons of water or stock in - maybe check with your sister what she does?
Glad you're feeling positive about group Lush! You're making me feel like a bad little MSE-er now, I know I could get glasses and lenses cheaper but I just can never be pestered to do so
Just had a delivery of all my SW paraphernalia: meal planners, diaries and the Comfort Food book which I've only had a quick flick through but looks brilliant! Loads of recipes I've not seen before (including a kedgeree which someone mentioned to me the other day and I've not been able to get out of my head since!), and they all look so cosy and delicious. Trouble is I've no room at all in my freezer anymore after my recent batch cooking marathons!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hello all :A
It’s been a funny old week! Managed to ‘poison’ myself last Saturday by eating something with wheat/gluten in  still not sure of the culprit as nothing I hadn’t eaten before. Was really poorlie for 4 days. Felt better enough to leave the house on Wednesday so I decided to walk from my house to the city centre and back again (after haircut) talk about going from famine to feast :rotfl:. Not sure of the mileage but took me hour n half there and 2 back. Plus son met me with dog so we walked round a couple of Big fields before going home. Couldn’t walk the next day plus still suffering now :rotfl:.
Also re the ‘poisoning’, it caused a mouth ulcer (usual side effect) which is taking its time going, bloody painful as just inside lip so teeth catch it
.
Hoping for a loss with all the walking though.
Hope everyone is well and on the lose :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
