CCJ Wrong Postcode

How can a ccj be valid if it's sent to an address that you lived at 5 years ago? All my credit reports have my current address on them as does the electoral register so I've not exactly been hiding.
What would my rights be?
The system is flawed because anybody can make a court claim and put any address. If the address is wrong the claim won't be defended and a CCJ will be awarded 28 days later. Of course not many people would do that because you still wouldn't get your money. And if the CCJ is set aside you'd end up paying £250+ costs.
A certain T. May was supposedly going to look at this broken system at the beginning of the year after newspaper stories about people losing out on mortgages because of it. I wouldn't hold my breath0 -
What I'm saying is that I technically haven't received the ccj. The only way I found out about it was by chance signing up to a credit report that happened to have a ccj on there.
I have received no correspondence about the ccj whatsoever. Surely this means that the ccj has not been served correctly. How can I acknowledge a ccj I had no idea about?0 -
The court sent the CCJ to the address that the debtor last held for you, it really is as simple as that. As has been stated earlier, contact the court.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Set-aside may be an option but until you know what this is, you haven't really started.0

Has anyone had history / problems with a credit ref agency called 'callcredit' displaying false information out of interest?0

CRA's only publish the information provided to them by creditors.
Sometimes information is sent in error, and mistakes do happen.
But you have already been advised by the best brains on this forum what your course of action should be, that would be my advice also.

None. Creditors are only required to send letters and file a CCJ for the last address they have that you gave them. If you don't update your address with people you owe money to then that is your fault and there is no redress for that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. This is a little bit simplistic. Sometimes a so-called creditor gets your address from another source - think about the rogue parking industry.0 -
