CCJ Wrong Postcode

Hello,
I have recently checked a credit file which isn't equifax or Experian and it appears to show a ccj on there which I have no recollection of which was sent to an address I lived in 5 years ago. The ccj was issued in June of this year for an amount I don't recognise.
The only thing is the address is incorrect. The postcode on the ccj on the credit file is not the postcode I lived at. The start of the address is correct but the postcode is very wrong.
I'm not really sure what to do now as obviously I've had no formal letter or anything from this ccj and it's not on any other credit file just this totally money credit file.
Advice would be great.

You say very wrong so is it more than 1 letter out ?
Call credit supply the data so is it on your Noddle report then ?0 -
Yes it's 2 letters out. It's on my noddle credit file under the public information section but with incorrect postcode on there.0

You can send a prove it letter asking for proof you the debt eg a contract you signed. Does it say who owns the debt(might not even help) ? You may not recognise the amount as interest could have been added on.0 -
The court will tell you who the CCJ is with, but not what its for. Not sure a proveit letter will work as a CCJ has been awarded so the debt is payable under the CCJ. You can find out the original debt by then contacting the creditor, you don't need to confirm new address just your old one. Do you know the date of the CCJ, is it less than a month old?
That the postcode is incorrect doesn't have any baring on it, the other part is correct and it was an address you lived at. You have to remember many agreements, such as non consumer credit ones like telecoms and catalogues, can be done over the phone and the postcode could have been mistyped. It doesn't make the debt any less valid.0 -

Ah ok, I was on the track.

So the date is payable but if the only way I've found out about the ccj by checking a credit report surely gives me some rights as I haven't lived at the address for 5 years and had no idea about the said debt. I don't evade debts at all.
How can a ccj be valid if it's sent to an address that you lived at 5 years ago? All my credit reports have my current address on them as does the electoral register so I've not exactly been hiding.
What would my rights be?0 -
Typo date = debt0

A CCJ is valid if communications are sent to your last known address. This would be the case if the debt was taken out whilst you lived at that address and the creditor was not updated.
Once you know who the debt is with you can contact them for further details. If you're still convinced it is not yours you can apply for a set aside. That can become very expensive, so come back to us when you have further detail and we'll advise what your options are.0 -

Then how has this got posted to your file? The reference agencies should, I assume, carry out validity checks against all incoming data and if something is not right they shouldn't be posting it. You need to ask them to remove inaccurate data like this because it breaches data protection.0 -
The first thing you need to do is contact the court and ask them to send you the particulars of claim. That should tell you what this. It may not be yours.0
