She always maintains that it is easier for blokes to lose weight than women, but I hit back with women's "equal rights", so she can't really argue that one.

This is the stupidest thing I have read today.

Do you actually want to support her, or just nag and rub her nose in it?

  • I know it sounds cruel but how about embarrassing someone into realising themselves they need to change - It only took me being walked very quickly to the point of running up 4 flights of stairs recently at the start of a rather important interview, I lost my breath and couldn't get it back until the interview was very nearly finished. I was really ashamed :o I let myself go after my week away back in July...
So could you find something like a nice windmill with a lot of steps to climb and time each other in the friendliest cruel to be kind way.

Otherwise I get a lot of motivation, competitiveness, guilt from my fit bit !
Parents will moan if they haven't tracked me doing anything!

Didn't know Katie Hopkins was a member of mse.

The only way someone will succeed at a diet is when they want to do it for themselves.

Someone in my family tried to fat shame me years ago & they now wonder why I don't bother with them ......& know nothing of my 3.5 stone loss

Get a Sharpie, calculate the total number of calories in the entire packet and then write that figure back and front of the packet with the Sharpie.

Nuts, family packet of crisps, multipacks and so on.

    It's pretty sobering.
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

The most stupid thing I heard today, was the guy who tried to hunt hegehogs for food, because he thought they were pigs which lived in bushes at the side of the road;)

I can't even see her nose, because it is in the cashew nut packet at the moment:eek:
  • You sound like a right chauvanist.

I predict she'll be losing at least 12 stone shortly.

Andy you could try what worked for me. Just incrementally buy her nice clothes that are slightly too small. My wife was a size 10/12 when I first met her but is a size 6 now.

What on earth is wrong with size 10/12? I'm that and am quite slim.

Are you using American sizes? A size 6 in the UK would be tiny, British size 10.
