This week's MS Email gives a 'special blagged deal' of 4GB data and unlimited mins/texts for £9 a month. If you're willing to faff around a bit claiming cashback every couple of months (no big deal - easy to do online), there's an even better deal currently available.
Go to http://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/sim-only/pay-monthly you can get the same benefits as the MSE deal, but for a pound less a £8 a month (after cashback) and with 12GB data - great for heavy data users.
Go to MobilePhonesDirect via TCB and you get a one-off £30 cashback for taking out a new contract, bringing the cost down to £5.50 a month.

I take it you will personally guarantee said cashback?
Your 'even hotter deal' relies on making the claims, them not being rejected and mobilephonesdirect not going t**ts up!
Hardly a like from like comparison :rotfl:0 -

What a silly post. You get the £30 upfront from TCB and then pay monthly for your deal from MPD - if they can't supply the service, you don't have to pay! Hardly much of a risk, for a very much better deal.0 -
Incidentally, Three have dropped their 30GB, unlimited calls and texts, from £20 to £18/month (12 month contract, advanced SIM)0

You'll still have a contract with the network even if MPD goes bust!0 -
MPD have been superb with cashback claims for the last two years - although I have one small hiccup on my latest contract with them. They could always disappear - in which case the cashback will disappear with them. As for TCB - I was their highest earner but resigned when it became clear that much of the cashback from their merchants is a con and never materialises. It is not "upfront" as a rule and I am about to leave Quidco (where my earnings have been higher still) for the same reason. In the latter instnace, it was TWO contracts with MPD direct where they refused to pay up and Quidco - just like TCB nowadays - did !!!!!! all.
I would add that no cashback site offers £30 cashback on a sim only contract.0 -

However I'm surprised nobody else has challenged this statement, so I'm now wondering am I missing something?0 -
You are correct. I'm more used to dealing with cashback contracts on CPW and other dealers and never gone direct or used three. However, the rest remains; it is not "ypfront" and the cashback sites won't pay if the dealer refuses. The limited stats look positive but I can't see or read any reviews since I cancelled my TCB membership months ago. The cashback stats were good for the places I used and so was my experience - until they started playing up.0

In the FAQs about cashback (I can't find the cashback T&Cs) it states 'Please note that you cannot claim a cash back if you have cancelled your order, disconnected the SIM card from the network, or you have changed your price plan with us, or with the network.' Does this mean that if your battery runs out, you'll be deemed to have disconnected your SIM card?
Also, do you have to send in your bills by post? It might tell you in the ‘My Account’ section of the website, but I can see no way of getting there!

Been to their website and they have two offers from Three, both offer 30GB, unlimited texts and calls one works out at £10 a month and the other £14.67, am I missing something or does there seem to be no difference in what they are offering?0
