  • Total shambles, how long do you have to wait for dividends
e.g. Barclays dividend paid 18/9 got credited to account 22/9 (that's their own stock mind you) Royal Dutch Shell also paid 18/9 ... no sign of it yet, now 7 working days.

In a non Barclays account paid 18/9 credited overnight time to move i feel.

Not just me then - Virgin Money dividend due nearly a week ago, still no sign of it

Aaaandd bizarrely, it turns up barely an hour after I posted this! I need to move.
  • Well that's just weird. I recently sold my holding in a company, after the ex div date. Barclays Not-So-Smart-Investor have (as per my ADR instruction) reinvested the dividend, so I am now the (slightly puzzled) owner of six shares in a company I had already dumped.

In the helpful help pages of Barclays Stockbrokers (still available when I Googled), it says that, to qualify for ADR, I must "hold at least one share in [my] portfolio from the issuing company on the day the dividend is credited to [my] account".

Which is today. And I don't.

Guess the bugs are still busy.

Can someone confirm the download function is defintely gone and not hidden somewhere?

I have used barclays for years mainly for direct shares and not funds...but as I am selling down shares in favour of funds so I will reduce use of barclays. Don't like the funds charges, do like the lower shares charges (than before). So will stay for now but perhaps move later. What a mess.

Perhaps that's where my dividends have gone to too. This system is a total waste of time , I am going to leave as soon as one of my shares goes ex-div tomorrow, mind you I will probably find out that they don't come "!!! rights" this so-and-so forum won't let me use the latin of with rights

I suggest you don't leave until you have received your dividend. Leaving in the period between the ex-div date and the payment date means the div will be received by Barclays, but you won't have an account with them for it to be paid into (and then passed on.

My experience was that any shares that were xd when I moved my account will still pay the divi to Barclays. Only when they have all been received by them do they send the cash to your new broker.
  • Coming back to this shambles after a quiet period of monitoring, done a bit of shuffling, it's not great but it seems to work for now (I'm still moving, I just don't want to until I can reasonably expect it not to take several months).

However, I've noticed that my cash balance is showing as £32.95 but I'm only able to invest (or extract) £3.84 of it. The remaining £29.11 is made up of two dividends which were insufficient to reinvest, i.e there wasn't enough to buy a single share of either company (I'm very small-time). Previously, in that case, the cash would have just gone into the pot, and I could do as I pleased with it, but now I can't do anything. I can't take it out, I can't reinvest it. It's just sitting there, claiming to be a percentage of my portfolio, but actually completely useless. I can't find any info about this little peculiarity anywhere. Any ideas?

No idea, but I do have a strange transaction it's 2p of tax deducted in a SIPP where you don't normally pay any taxes unless taxing income but then gross is deducted and you don't see tax as a transaction, and currently there would be no tax due as below the personal allowance.

Was rejected on identity validation for a current account, but they set up a current account regardless, then got the debt card card and card reader so an now do PINSentry log on.

No improvement, apart from CloudIT works, or nearly works. Can now see two documents in CloudIT, they are the term and conditions, but the download to view results in an error.

Even the logoff doesn't work if you happen to be on certain pages.

I did wait until after the 23rd, as got a letter state everything will fixed by this date in reply to my complaints. Apart from having a current account now very little is fixed just some things work only with PINSentry. Now the complaints go to the next stage.
