I would say get rid of all of them.0

Basically, tck them all, then look for the box under the list that says clean system files, click it, and when the new list comes up tick them all again...no harm will come from doing so.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
CCleaner
CCleaner developed by Piriform, is a utility program used to clean potentially unwanted files
(including temporary internet files, where malicious programs and code tend to reside)
and invalid Windows Registry entries from a computer.
CNET editors gave the application a rating of 5/5 stars, calling it a 'must-have tool.0 -
Sorry, the "chuckle's" gone right over my head, as you may have realised, I'm no techie.
8.69gb is a lot of temp files and will take a while to clean up when you hit the button"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -

Ok, thanks for the explanation. Probably why it took a while for my computer to start up again after closing down earlier after I'd carried out the clean up, it was probably still mid clean up and I didn't realise, oops.0 -

I'm not offered the option to clean system files when in the disk cleanup window. I've clicked on the disk cleanup button several times now but can't see the option. There's another tab for "more options" but this only refers to "programs and features" and "system restore". As mentioned I use Windows 7 Home Premium, should it still be visible with this operating system?0 -
Sorry 10_66, i was just amused at the volume of your temporary files , that is quite a lot to say the least
As for what to delete, the answer is everything .. Tick everything that it will let you tick.
It wont offer to delete anything that is important
the only reason it gives you the option is incase you are a hardened techie and want to keep various obscure log files etc ..
Dont worry, just go for it0 -
Many thanks to everyone for their help0
