    Hi all

Well as i haven't done anything today ( anything on my list that is) I'm going to be playing catch up tomorrow, hopefully i shouldn't need to leave the house so it should be ok.

How does everyone else with lo's clean their upstairs? My Lo is 20 months and i find it impossible to do upstairs when he's awake. I find if i take him up with me he trashes the place so it's worse than when i started, and i can only leave him downstairs alone for a couple of minutes at most . I'm sure there has to be a way around it, any ideas?

Wacky Wednesday - those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms

    Level One

Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can see
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself!!!!! paint your nails, make an appointment to have your hair done, a lovely soak in the bath.. whatever you feel like!!
    Level Two
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade and curtain pole!!!
    Level Three
Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!!
Sort through a cupboard/chest of drawers and get the clothes out which are no longer wearable, too small or out of season!
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
    Extra Task List
    • Wash a set of curtains, nets, duvet or throw
    • Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames!
    • 30 minutes ironing.. you love me & you know it!
    • grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house.. rubbish or charity shop or to donate to a friend!
    Deep Clean Challenge
Sort the book shelves.. and toy boxes.. what can be flung? we are making room for those lovely new things Santa will be bringing soon if we are all being good boys and girls!!.. So get rid of all the things that are no longer required!

Thrilling Thursday - Master Bedroom & Landing

    Level 1
    Check fire alarms are working
    Remove and wash bed linen.
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen.. do you need that winter duvet yet?
    15 minutes floordrobe clearance
    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Clear a hotspot., or spend 15 minutes clearing one.
Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more
    • 27 fling boogie time, time for that midweek fling, go on grab a bag and clear that clutter
    • Put away those summer clothes from someones cupboard and get out the winter woollies.. don’t store anything that is past its best! Make a list of things you need to buy!!
    • Clean windows in these rooms
    • Check house for places where draughts are getting in.. doors, windows etc and see if there are ways to stop it!
    Deep Clean Challenge
clean out that airing cupboard!!!!!! get rid of those things you don't need.. use dead towels as cleaning cloths etc.. be ruthless!!!! you REALLY don't need that 'thing' you've saved for 10 years.. 'just in case' If you did this last week.. you can do the under the stairs cupboard!!!
  • hi, pigpen 'If you did this last week.. you can do the under the stairs cupboard!!!'

you are a mind reader - last week i did one shelf it is in serious need of sorting - think this week has been good for me!

holly - mine are 4 and 2 - they do trash upstairs when i am tidying but just a different bit to the one i'm on!! so i put the stairgate across and ignore - it then takes me a further time to sort out toys but it is worth it for getting my room sorted or airing cupboard as i jsut wouldn't get it done!

right lift here - off to scoff cake with friends!

Mine love reading books and will sit for hours looking at them, W loves his trains as well and will spend ages playing with those. But I do use the free child minder in the corner of the lounge on occassion ;) Cbeebies and CBBC are great and ad free to boot so you don't get the 'I want ........... for Christmas/birthday' all the time

    Thanks

Cbeebies only works for so long  ( longer if combined with a snack;) )

I think i'll have to resume nagging Oh to put up the stair gates upstairs ( we've only had them for a year:rolleyes: ) , he put the 2 downstairs up then said he'd do the other 2 tomorrow, well tommorrow never came:mad: .

Then i can put him in his room with his toys with no chance of escape:j

Perhaps if i withdraw favours he might get his backside in gear:o .

I would do it myself but it wouldn't be pretty:eek:

Another day with little done. Mind you, it shows how much this site helps because the place doesn't look totally trashed. I was planning to tidy, honest!, but then ds wanted to make chocolate lollypops so we did. They look lovely and i'm sure it doesn't matter if there aren't 8 left in the fridge in the morning. They're calling me. See, i'm getting old, i'd rather have a chocolate lolly than a postman or a tesco delivery guy! xx

Holly-My little ones are 2 & 4 and I struggle to keep everywhere tidy lol!:o But I do have a stairgate on their bedroom upstairs which did work until about 3 months ago when dd1 learnt how to open it herself so now lets herself and her little sis out to go trash the other rooms whilst I think they are in their room!

Oh.. tidying with little ones.. We go do it together.. or.. I bung a film on in the room we are doing (or downstairs) and scarper.. she happily picks bits up and I pretend I am teaching her to be tidy!

Or.. that is what afternoon naps are for!!! .. Mind you, granted they don't all sleep like my tiddler does.. she will go to bed at 10am and I STILL have to wake her up at half past two to go do the school run!

    Evening guys...
Still have practised my bass...oh well...

Considering my tesco delivery guys are usually about 50, I'd prefer chocolate too...

Anyway, I've put kinders to bed and kinda tidied up after tea, ( its now in the kitchen, so I can't see it sitting on the sofa)
I will clean it up later....probably.

My ebay sales aren't going particularly well and the ones selling aren't going for much. Perhaps there will be a bum rush on them tomorrow.
I think I'm still going to list the other stuff, though.

I've not done any baking. I was determined to cause I had things to use up. I just don't want to make the kitchen messy...
