I commend the government in their continued subterfuge to create the impression they're out of their depth. It's really working.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

These are almost as desperate as some detractors here with their carp - for example, look where Merkel is.
Any further away & she would be completely out of shot.
Merkel has a number of priorities. Mrs May is isn't one of them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Asian investors have accounted for almost half of major London property deals since the Brexit voteRumours of the demise of the capital's foreign investor market are greatly exaggerated, it seems, after new research showed Asian investors have made up close to half of the value of the largest property deals since the Brexit vote.
Yup, Fullfact are right; Europe is shrinking as a percentage of the world economy.0 -

Here are just a few of her "priorities":Other data published on Friday showed retail sales unexpectedly fell on the month in August and posted a smaller increase on the year than forecast, putting a slight dampener on hopes that a consumer-led upswing will continue at full steam.Adding to the mixed picture, a GfK survey published on Thursday showed the cheerful mood among German shoppers had clouded unexpectedly heading into October. Most refugees to be jobless for years, German minister warns0 -

Britons in EU hail May’s ‘big step forward’ on residency rights

Thank you, I am aware that there is progress on Citizens rights. It is a shame that the other two key issues are not making the same amount of progress.
I am interested in your word "irrelevant" do you think that Citizens rights, that both side have said is very important, are irrelevant to Brexiters.
You probably feel the same about the Irish border issue, it feels that the UK Government don't care too much about that particular issue.
Britains interests are being sacrificed by the infighting in the Tory party. This is no way to move forward rapidly to a satisfactory conclusion. It looks likely that Britain will miss the major deadline to move on to discussing trade. I hope not, we could be surprised.
Let us all remember the referendum was FIFTEEN MONTHS ago. PM May triggered article 50 SIX MONTHS ago. That old phrase "what a way to run a railway" comes to mind.
I hope that the British Government are not spending as much time as the Brexiter posters on here are, looking at and criticising other members of the EU. Britain needs to look after Britain and at the moment the Tory negotiators are spending too much time bickering amongs themselves.
Brexiters would be better spending their time trying to get the Government to sort themselves out than discussing problems in France, Germany or Italy.
Did I expect Brexit to win the referendum - NO
Did I expect Britain to make such a mess of the negotiations - NOThere will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
I find the Elitist sense of entitlement to inflict major change on European people without genuine meaningful consent, simply breath-taking. How can a small elite think it can think for the people in this way? The people's will is merely theoretical here. There is no means for the people to have a real say over these day-to-day power grabs.

Remember, 52/48 means just 1 in 50 Leave voters changing their mind and everything is gone 💙💛 💔0 -

"What’s more, the National Accounts painted households’ balance sheets in a much better light," says Hollingsworth, noting:
The household saving ratio has been revised up on average by 0.9pp between 1997 and 2016. And the impact in more recent quarters was even more significant – Q1’s figure was revised up from 1.7% to 3.8%. And the saving ratio picked up to 5.4% in Q2, the highest since Q3 2016.
This should alay some fears that the UK's private sector debt is becoming unsustainable.
Don't take the business investment figures too seriously.
I know of at least 2 HNWIs that are on a business-buying spree, with the intention of buying the company, booting out the staff and relocating the business itself to the mainland and/or Russia. Investment comes in, no profit (or tax) is put in the hands of the British government from it.
If it's in administration even better, apparently, as this method of cost-cutting can help a struggling business survive for the long-term.💙💛 💔0 -
Johnson has become the principle Brexit negotiator "again"
He has written an article for the Sun detailing the new/extra red lines.
These are:
1) Transition period must be a maximum of two years, not a second more.
2) UK must refuse to accept new EU rules during that period
3) No payments for access to the single market after the end of the transition period
4)UK must not agree to shadow EU rules to gain access to the single market
The above is from the BBC app so I can not post link.
This just reinforces the chaos that is Britains Brexit negotiations. Britain is perfectly entitled to ask and say anything it likes or wants but this is not the way to move forward.
1), 2), and 3) are perfectly reasonable but 2) is a deal breaker.
Frankly he appears to want to derail May AND the negotiations. His lust for power at the expense of the British people is beyond belief.
With May threatening to walk away from the talks (just rumour at the moment) I am beginning to wonder if offering Britain a transition period will not be in the EU's interests. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
Any chaos is caused by undermining Remainers. We need May out, and a proper leader in her place that has the vision and passion to take others with her, him.
Back seat drivers like Rudd are holding us back.0 -

I disagree completely. You have a bunch of people running the country whose naked ambition is more important to them than an effective outcome to the most important negotiations than we've faced in years. Brexit is much more important than the leadership. They should !!!!!! and get on with it.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
