Lite/no Brexit, of course, suits big business because they keep the same high EU-protected prices in the UK market, they keep their UK access to cheap labour, and via their lobbying budgets in Brussels they can carry on controlling the EU regulations which keep out the competition.
I think maybe Boris smells a rat or a sell out. He's firmly distancing himself from it.
TBH I would not be too put out with a Swiss type arrangement, but on the other hand I would prefer complete WTO if given the choice of Swiss deal or nothing.
BTW - I understand 4 more poor net receiver corrupt nations are to join the EU, on top of the ever closer union direction the EU is headed in.
What do people like Cable think the British people would make of that if we were to remain?0 -

Do the Swiss opt for FoM?While the EU Directive 2004/38/EC on the right to move and reside freely does not directly apply to Switzerland, the Swiss-EU bilateral agreement on the free movement of people contains the same rights both for Swiss and EEA nationals, and their family members.0 -
Wine producers from Burgundy worry over BrexitBURGUNDY (REUTERS) - Spring frosts have already chilled some of the wine growing regions in France, damaging crops at a key time.
Now Chablis producers in Burgundy are worried about Brexit.
Britain is their largest foreign market - buying almost a third of their export bottles.
Vineyard owner, Louis Moreau said: "We know that there is a distribution network in Britain that functions very well - wine sellers, restaurants. All the wholesalers are there. But we've had no response as yet from the large retailers and they make up 80 per cent of the distribution?"
Figures from one marketing firm show 6.5 million bottles of Chablis were sent to the UK last year, generating revenue of more than 37 million euros.
Sales in British supermarkets reached almost 2.6 million litres - with an average price of around 12 pounds per litre.0 -

The man who claims nobody negotiates with the EU and wins told people to vote so we can negotiate with the EU.......
He can distance himself from what he likes, he wasn't a 'passionate' leaver until he realised it could do his career prospects some good, in fact I remember it being touted by many that he was going to support Remain.
A typical privileged career politician is Boris, nothing more, nothing less.💙💛 💔0 -
Brussels faces rebellion over South America trade deal that will 'devastate' EU farmers
BRUSSELS was today facing serious questions about its proposed trade deal with a group of South American countries after Irish farmers warned it would have a “devastating impact” the EU cattle industry.

NoDoes that mean we could have an agreement that did not include FoM?
No, we need manufacturing workers, fruit pickers, nurses, etc.
It wouldn't be in the best interests of business or the country to restrict FoM, nor would it be in the interests of Posh Spice's children, as they'll be more employable in 28 countries rather than just 1.💙💛 💔0 -
The chief executive of UK Music, Michael Dugher, has pushed for the British government to end the “uncertainty and lack of clarity” following the Brexit decision, and introduce a EU-wide live music ‘passport’ for British musicians, who need to tour freely throughout Europe.0

But didn't you hear, they will merrily disrupt and risk their UK sales and jobs therein and gladly so for the sake of some abstract possibility of dissuading other leavers.0
