Walked out of job.

At the end of the day if your next employer wants a reference you can go back to your previous but one employer, and explain the gap as a backpacking period around Austraila or the like.
I wouldn't lie, especially as your tax records will not support this story.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

Is this Samthefootball by any chance seems like he has the same temperMortgage free wannabe

No, been around too long. Different posting style. And Sam wouldn't manage 6 months in a job at the moment. (Sorry Sam, if you're reading this.)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
OMT
Truth is you do have a Contract, not written I agree , but as you showed up for work you accepted terms and conditions
I also walked from a job a while back. I went in, same old carp, and had a little f**kit moment and walked up to the manager and said shove it
Funny enough that too was a Thursday
Friday I had HR on the phone explaining I was in breach of contract if I didn't work a week notice. We came to a solution that suited us both, I took due holiday as part
Of the notice and only worked 2 days
If I were you I would also use any holiday or in lieu hours to cut you week notice down or hand your weeks notice in and get your gp to sign you off
If your gp signs you off ( and your posting history points to him being able to) sign on for Esa whilst you find somewhere better0 -

No way, of course not. This is a well respected OP.
With their post count Please behave!
They've (or whoever they are asking for) been through a stressful enough day(s), in the 'real world', without more fun being poked at.
It's wholly regrettable they asked on a board which has always taken a dim view of those that end up in this situation, when at the same time would never berate someone who came on here with depression/anxiety/panic attacks. Just perhaps there proud not to have to take sick leave and divulge every last bit of their lives or maybe they find themselves having to take annual leave between jobs as the only way to get a proper break.
Just because some of the posters on here can have cosy chats with their employer; doesn't mean the rest of society can or that we all have a job for life/many years of job guarantee, no matter what.
Perhaps they've even made their employer's life that bit easier?!
If you've never been in this situation - Easy. Just don't comment.0 -
I quit a job once and just faced HR a resignation letter then ignored all calls from my boss. Just email then notice so you don't have to see or talk to them.0

I remember - that was a small business too wasn't it?
I said in my email that I was too ill to work any notice - I don't think they'll hound me for proof. I wouldn't get a fit note until this time next week, by which time my notice will be over anyway . .
Someone mentioned constructive dismissal and that is relevant -although I wasn't the target for that, it's a toxic little environment to be in!
I'm applying to big factories only, this time!!0 -

Good job I'm not thin skinned Being likened to dogsh1t3 on someone's shoe - thank you ScorpionTrousers! Feel better after your little spurt of venom? - really isn't constructive!0 -
I once walked out of a job. I sent an email 1 min before leaving the office so it wouldn't be seen till next day. I left my pass on the desk and remember waiting for someone to tailgate out because we needed passes to get out the main door.
It was a temp job via an agency so I wasn't required to give notice. Yes it was unprofessional but I hated the place and I don't regret it. End of the day they can't force you to stay. There might be penalties but if you are so unhappy you can't cope just accept it happens sometimes. Your wellbeing is most important.0
