PS I would also suggest that you state in your written resignation that you are resigning for personal reasons. That is because this might just avoid them saying that you walked out on any subsequent reference.
PPS All of this assumes you do actually want to leave. If you do not, you can try seeing your manager, apologizing profusely, and telling the manager what led to this meltdown and how you intend to avoid a recurrence.[/QUOTE]
Damn - I 've already emailed and I've said I can't work my notice due to ill health.0 -

Which other thread?0 -
That's OK, since some sort of stress does seem to be at the root of this. The reasons for your stress are presumably personal......Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

At the end of the day if your next employer wants a reference you can go back to your previous but one employer, and explain the gap as a backpacking period around Austraila or the like.
BTW it sounds like constructive dismissal, especially about instant dismissal bit. Anyway move on, your next job maybe a job for lifeDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0 -

No! All work related!
I can get away without a reference from them: English-speaking, able to prove my entitlement to work in this country, flexible and ready to start will get me a similar paid job.
There are a lot of high turnover employers around here.0 -

I'd always give notice just as a courtesy. It's always nice to leave on good terms, regardless of what happens at work. You never know when you might need a reference or when you need your old job back!0
