Arguscarhire.com - Warning

Hi all
I just wanted to share a very bad experience with you and warn you to be very careful of using Arguscarhire.com
I hired a car using their site. I then had to cancel the hire as I had to cancel my week off from work and re-arrange it. I went to the online Portal and tried, several times to cancel my booking but kept on getting the "Oops - Looks like something has gone wrong - we have notified our technical support" message (I cannot recall exactly the whole message but it was similar and definitely started with the word Oops!). So after 8 or 9 attempts to cancel my booking I went about trying to speak to someone. As I was due to collect the car from the Brighton branch, I called the Europcar number to see if they could help and got connected with the branch. I explained the Problem with the Portal and they said they could cancel the booking for me there and then. So they did. They even sent me a quote for a re-booking if I wanted, but strangely no cancellation confirmation email.
Now it has been 11 working days since I cancelled my booking. I called the Customer Support number at Europcar to ask where my refund was. They checked my Reservation details and told me as I have originally booked through eTrawler (Arguscarhire) I had to chase up the refund with them.
So I managed to find the number for arguscarhire and spoke to someone there and was absolutely amazed to hear that as I had cancelled the booking with Europcar directly and not through them, they would not be refunding my payment! I told the Lady that I had tried to cancel on their Portal and continuously get an error and basically their Portal does not work, so I had to try and get through to someone and so eventually spoke to the branch who told me they could cancel it at their end. At no Point was I advised that if they cancelled it at the branch I would not receive my refund.
So because I could not use Arguscarhire's Portal, because it kept giving me an error, I now have lost my payment for a car I never used and basically got a "Tough, not our problem" kind of response from Arguscarhire!
I really would think twice before using this company!
