kk,
Can you access the wireless adaptor from both p.c's?
also, did you set your network up manually or is it asigned IP's automatically?0 -
If you open that msdos box back up and type
ipconfig /all
It will show lots of info, do it on both p.c's. Make sure both subnet masks are the same. Also look at the two IP address's.
You can paste the info in here from the ipconfig /all this will give us more ideas.0 -
Can both the PCs 'see' each other?
Is your setup a combined wireless/broadband modem gizmo or have you plugged a wireless access point into your broadband modem?
What are the make(s) and model number(s)?
Did you change or install anything the day before it all packed up?
Sorry, lots of questions (also from T4i) but will help us to try isolate the problem..0 -
I have a linksys Wireless - B USB Network Adapter - WUSB 11 plugged into computer no 2. Computer no 1 is linked to a BT openworld 2wire broadband modem. Into the broadband modem is linked a Linksys Wireless Access Point WAP 11 version 2.2.
It has worked fine for so long. cant think of anything we did yesterday that would have stopped it working.
Will do the rest of the stuff that you have suggested and report back0 -
when I type ipconfig /all into dos it all scrolls by so quickly and I cant get back up to the top of the page?0

You can press alt and enter to make it full screen, same to make it non-full screen.
You can also try just ipconfig which gives you the basic info.....0 -

What values have you got for DHCP/DNS servers?
Try using an IP address in your ping, use 218.58.224.82 (this is https://www.bbc.co.uk) and see what you get.
If you get a response - then DNS (Domain Naming System) is the likely cause, if not then the problem is possibly upstream.0 -
Ipconfig brings me the following info:-
0 ethernet adapter: ipaddress.....: 0.0.0.0
subnet mask ...........: 0.0.0.0
default gateway.........:
1 ethernet adapter - same as above
2 ethernet adapter - same as above
3 ethernet adapter - same as above
DHCP ENABLED
When i type the ping and the 218.58.224.82
it comes up with
pinging 218.58.224.82 with 32 bytes of data:
destination host unrechable
destination host unrechable
destination host unrechable
destination host unrechable
ping statistics for 218.58.224.82:
packets: sent =4, received =0, lost =4 (100% lost),
approx round trip times in milliseconds : minumum = 0ms, maximum = 0ms, average = 0ms
Is that good?0
