We use a Linksys wireless adapter to link another pc to our broadband connection. It has been working fine for 2 years , but suddenly today wont work. The 2 devices are reading each other and the signal strength is fine but the remote one is saying that it is unable to access the internet. Although the internet is working fine on no 1 pc.

Please can anyone help me ????

Lets see if its a IE problem first.

Are you running XP? If so click start and click run. Type cmd and press enter.

Then in the black window type ping https://www.bbc.co.uk

Do this on the p.c that cant access the net. Do you get ping timed out (no response) or a reply in ms?

If it does give you a reply your problem is with IE.

    Ok, sorry about that.

Click start, click run and type msdos.

That should bring the same black box up.

    Tried that!!!

Cannot find the file "msdos" or one of its components - make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available

  • Been a while myself, but in W98, goto 'accessories', and look for DOS Prompt (has a little black screen icon).
