BT Infinity Vs Vodafone Fibre

Options
Hi All,

I am coming to an end with my Sky Fibre, and am looking to change to either the Current BT Infinity 52mb deal for £27.99 or the 38mb Vodafone Fibre.

Any recommendations?

They all use the same kit to the cab and the same fibre to the exchange.

Vodafone don't allow you to use your own router.

Vodafone have (silently) allowed users to use their own router upon request.
Users have recently reported this in the official forums.

Have you seen what the BT price will rise to after the offer

Even a couple weeks on that while waiting for a switch to complete would not be very nice.

You can call up and request a renewal price if you're considering switching providers.

Or, you can arrange he switch to happen for the day your initial term ends.

how do you do the latter?

ring up 2 weeks before hand ?

When I switched 2 years ago, BT>EE I was told I couldn't select a date, and it would be sometime in the next 2 weeks

ISP's can set the date as far as I know.

Any offer I see from BT goes straight in the bin. Either they have tiny download limits, or the monthly charge is quadrupled after a few months.

The headline offers never bear any resemblance to the terms in the small print.

£402 for 12mth contract of Unlimited Infinity 1, minus £280 cashback, then LRS as well.
Works out at around £100 for 51.5Mbps, real life downloading 6.3MB/s.
    Been perfect so far.
I'll worry about renewing or whatever when the time comes.
    Move along, nothing to see.

    Tosh.

They offer unlimited usage for the price on the offer for the 12 or 18 month term of the contract, just like all other ISP's.

Show me a BT product that costs £120 per month for a residental broadband connection after a few months of taking out the service.

Not last time I looked. I don't care if they've cleaned up their act now. BT have "cried wolf" far too often to convince me to look into their offering.
