. . . and the thief didn't bother topping it up with water.

ie the bottle of shampoo that had gone down a lot....

Well - he also was one of the lodgers that smoked in my own house (I owned) - despite my advert always saying "no smoking".

I think he also was under the illusion that I would be cleaning his room for him somehow (as I gather the culture he comes from is one where women do all the cleaning??). Obviously I didn't clean his room for him - as that wasnt part of the deal with lodgers - so why would he get "special treatment"? Net result - I landed up giving him his notice for a variety of reasons - one of which I could smell his room from several feet away and even with the door closed (as no-one was cleaning it then).

System ? If I pay for a room and there's 3 other people I don't care about the system already in place I'd want a fair share of the bathroom and the kitchen be that cupboard or a side etc.

I'd just put my stuff down and everyone can move there's into there fair share

    I agree with that.

Still think it was wrong to take photos like that.

But - in any and every setting I've ever been in in my life then I'm aware that I'm mentally counting how many people are using that facility (or whatever) and then doing a mental calculation of what percentage of the facility is mine and that is what I will use.

So - yep....4 people somewhere means I decide 25% is mine. 10 people somewhere means I decide 10% is mine. Whether it be possessions or a "say" about whats what my Fairness Indicator is there flagging up in my head what is my "share" of available resources.

The only time where it would be different is if one literally owns (ie has paid for/got one's name down as "owner" on something). So, when I took in lodgers, I knew I owned that house and was living there permanently - so I did take a lions share of space in kitchen for instance. But I would say to the lodgers - This is your shelf in the fridge/your shelf in the freezer/your cupboard.
