Then you would probably need to buy one separately. I bought my mum a Quasquai ( no idea how to spell it). The spare wheel kit was an optional extra and included a jack, wheelbrace and a bare wheel rim. No tyre.
I bought everything separately, including a tyre , for half the cost of the kit.0 -
Cheap enough to buy as a separate item anyway.

Thank you for replies everyone. I will make sure that they don't try to force me to change the discs.. it's strange that the second garage didn't even look at them and said straight away that they will need changing
I hate taking my car to a garage and always put it off..
I have a Qashqai, and it didn't come with a spare wheel, instead I got the inflation kit..0 -

You should be able to get 40,000 before you need discs. Yours are not 100%, but they should be ok for another year.
If your car is 3 years old, if its passed its MOT, the brakes must work ok.
£300 is not cheap either, Halfords should be cheaper, £300 is a main dealer price, £200 at a smaller garage.0 -
Whilst Halfords certainly are not the cheapest we do not know the make or model of car. If the rear discs incorporate the wheel bearing and abs ring they could've a significant part of the price.
Good quality discs for the rear of my Peugeot are £80 a disc so that's £160 straight away on that car plus pads at £25. Two areas to not buy cheap low quality parts are tyres and brakes.0 -

As an example - NISSAN QASHQAI (J11, J11_) 2.0 from Year 06.2014 144 PS
£18.88 each, but main dealers will charge more.

I have been quoted £300 after a student discount and after they took additional £20 off.. My qashqai is a 2014 1.2l, and price for the discs comes up as £24 on buycarpartc.co.uk. I am aware that I should probably change them sooner or later, and if the garage gives me more appropriate price then I will probably just go with it. If not, then I will probably keep an eye on them and get them checked against regulations, and then change them when I know I need to.0

I find most garages want to change brake discs unnecessarily.
We had our 1st qashqai serviced at Nissan (30k miles on it) and they wanted to replace the discs because it needed pads. The discs had very little wear on them at all.
Most recently I needed a new tyre on my Mercedes estate due to running over a nail. The garage (Formula one) told me I needed new discs and pads on the rear (I knew the pads were almost done). I declined their quote of £280. However 2 weeks later it had its service at Mercedes, they advised the pads needed changing so I asked about the discs and they said there's nothing wrong with them!
It happens time and again for me, it seems to just be the standard quote from a lot of garages and I'm sure a lot of people just say yes!0 -

As a guide my local independent mechanic just serviced my wifes qashqai. Whilst it was there he did discs & pads on the rear for £120.0
