All these posts and not one of you has remotely tried to help the OPmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You seem to be getting rather upset at being called out as a racist.
The truth hurts.
Nonsense. You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you on the nose. You've made more assumptions about me than the OP did about the guy that hit him.
I'm not racist. Never have been and have no time for people that are.
Here is the Oxford definition of racist:
Showing or feeling discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or believing that a particular race is superior to another.
Where in his post did the OP do that? Nowhere. Neither have I.0 -
If the young guy had run off and the police asked for a description what should I have said.
A young man in black trousers and a grey top, black hair and brown eyes, or a young Asian guy in black trousers and a grey top.
Sorry I was only giving a report as to what happened and what I saw and asking for what may happen, not making any racist comments.0 -

Your increasingly hysterical defence of your own prejudices against foreigners are evident in your posting.
I see no reason to identify anyones racial background, skin colour, or ethnicity in describing this (or indeed any) situation unless it was directly pertinent.
Only a racist would disagree0 -

To my point, in that instance it would have been entirely acceptable in that instance, but it is definitely not acceptable in the context of your original post.0 -

The one being hysterical is you. You are insulting me. Why should I not defend myself from your bullying?
I have no prejudices against foreigners. three quarters of the year I am the foreigner in other countries. So to be prejudiced would be nonsensical, much like your accusation and your bullying.0 -
caronoel, I thought your original question was appropriate. Not because I think the OP is racist, but because I believe that challenging clumsy labelling when it's not relevant is the right thing to do. However, you've taken it too far. I don't see anything racist in the OP's original post or his or Mercdriver's subsequent posts and to call them racist is out of order and undermines the very reasonable point you made in the first instance.0

To go back to the original question, I've no idea how the rental company will proceed.
But OP, in future, the law requires you to exchange names and addresses, not phone numbers. This is also for your own protection: mobile numbers, even if not false, can be untraceable.0
