Unable to access printer

Options
Recently my OH's laptop downloaded yet another dodgy microsoft major windows 10 update.

Ever since she has been unable to access her printer.

She has done a virus scan and all clear.

How can we rectify this problem?

Have you checked the printer drivers are up to date?

    unplug the printer from USB
Remove the printer, and the driver and driver package (tell me if you need to know how to do this)

Plug the printer back in, to a different USB post if possible, but no problem if not.

Windows should then reinstall the printer and it should work

Fixed a similar issue for another user already this morning !!

    ??

What model printer is it ?

W10 Should automatically find the drivers.
Make sure your connected to internet, go into device manager, right click the printer and choose "update driver software"

What method did you use to remove the drivers ?
The correct way is to do it from "print server properties" in devices and printers
That way you can completely remove any corrupt drivers

Yiou may need to stop then start the spooler first too
