Just costed out the shopping again for the £25 a week, it's going to be tight! Largely because OH has a big appetite, and also because if he fact we have no more apples or pears in the garden. Frugal shopping here we come! Definitely back to Ald! Too!0

Hi Missy,
You're doing well, good luck with the food shop x0 -
Hey purple long time no speak, thanks Hun, I'll head on over to your diary later!
Eeek just put all the things we need for a week with OH home in online t€sco and it comes out at £30.80, will need to do some penny pinching somewhere along the line!0 -

How much is it a struggle of sticking to £30 a week? I know it sort of goes against mse putting the budget up but I still think £30 a week for a family of 4 is amazing. Not only that it's better to be more 'realistic' and tight that impossible and feeling like you're constantly going over budget.
I hope this makes sense
It's late and I don't want it to come across wrong. It isn't intended in a bad way x 0 -
That doesn't sound wrong! I appreciate your input. And of course you are right, I can stretch to £30 per week, it's more trying to prove to myself that I can do it on £25, but for no apparent reason!!! So I think I'll be happier if I try for £25 and if I go above but try and stay under £30 it's all ok.
Thanks again lovely x0 -
£30 a week is amazing! £25 is super amazing
You are doing well to achieve either! "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well done on trying to keep your shopping at under £30 a week Missy. I just cannot keep mine under £50! xxMummytogirls x0

Thanks guys. Sorry for slow replies. Everything is manic with Halloween and OH home and little Roo was invested in B@avers yesterday so had to rush around getting his jumpers etc. But bless his heart, it was worth all the rushing around etc. He was the proudest little cherub you've ever seen! Makes me so happy.
Ok so more on topic. It is another tight month this month. But it's manageable! Haven't been shopping since Monday so all good there. Food wise.
Yesterday was toast, pizza for lunch and then hot dogs for dinner. Today we've all had cereal. I've got an old packet of pasta and sauce for lunch and we have pasta bolognaise, which I painstakingly put in the slow cooker this morning at 7am. So happy about that! Tomorrow will be a similar food day but with sandwiches for lunch and dinner will be pasta for smalls and I'm going to convince OH to get a takeaway as we haven't had one in such a long time and after 5 weeks away I think we deserve one! Still have lots of dinners in..... So hoping shopping will be happily within budget Monday.0 -
