If it will boot from USB and as you can get to the bios you can check if it has that option in the boot sequence then it is quite possible to download the recovery iso from Microsoft and produce a bootable USB drive but you will need access to another machine to produce it.

I think there is a trick to being able to boot from USB on some of these laptops. https://superuser.com/questions/1162694/how-to-boot-from-usb-on-my-asus-t101ha may give an answer for yours - I haven't read it all.

It’s my past few years using macs at home that’s stopping me trying a USB recovery.

Interestingly when Asus boots to bios I cant change the boot sequence anymore therefore not ceartain I could boot direct from usb.

You are correct, though I don’t want to take work laptop home to gain usb access/download win10 recovery.

As I since switched to iPads since last year, latest device is IPP Pro10.5 -No usb at all though enjoyable for browsing etc.

Which is why I purchased Asus entry level just to have a Win 10 device at home if and when required.

What I didn’t mention was I 1st phoned Currys C/‘S who kindly advised I could take the laptop to nearest store which I did.

It maybe worth at least visiting store of purchase this weekend only a few miles way/short drive.

Think I’ll call CS again and ask them to call the store to let them know of my visit in advance.

If laptop was out of warranty, then I would have considered a new purchase though for little use I didn’t want to speand a few hundred again just for a win10 device.

There’s some excellent links including last resort download bios to usb in addition to Win 10 recovery media.

I’ll decide maybe from Fri or Sat, maybe a tech recovery effort, to avoid the simple though expensive purchase another win10 laptop option.

Lots of ideas at least to try, which I’ll enjoy anyway as a return to win10 past few months.

Maybe I’ll search for the lowest cost laptop to provide usb access, can 200 be lowered in cost at all

Tonight’s scan of check my file -Aqua card Dec 2016 1 month after Nov 2016 Asus purchase -balance 199 -excellent I shall return to Currys tomorrow though I’ll visit store of purchase this time.

With my aqua card -request my sales order receipt as required to return laptop to Asus in warranty.

I was determined to avoid purchase of a new laptop when Asus can be repaired in warranty.

I’ll post update once I get to the return to Asus stage.

Receipt collected from Currys this morning,

New RMA claim sent to Asus via e-mail.

Think this will be repaired or replaced in warranty.

Slightly off topic I since seen a HP 64gb ssd laptop reduced, is 64 gb enough storage for later windows 10 versions, Anniversary/Creators etc.

If someone were to give me a 64Gig drive, personally I would put a usb to sata converter on it and use it as a usb stick.

I will work as a drive with 10, but will be tight, especially as larger service packs/upgrades rollout.

Agree a google search advised similar reply’s -Anniversary -yes /creators-No via 64gb.

T.b.h. I’m pursuing the Asus RMA 1st.
Helps I activated ms office free 12mts subs via ipp pro upgrade a few days ago.

Though word/excell are working fine, I’m struggling activating outlook though if I find the time I’ll re try this weekend.

Honestly don’t want to spend approx 200 if Asus is repaired in warranty,time will tell if its worth repairing, the HP-64gb ssd 14.1 laptop seems nice at least online -may re visit it or similar if required.

Enjoying ipp pro as I have Bluetooth keyboard/glass screen protector.

Called Asus today, more e-mail docs to send for RMA request.

A little excell to compete + pdf.

All returned to Asus via 2 emails.

Can except collection and service/returned laptop approx 7 days.

This has taken quite a bit of effort from me as a consumer,though at least getting there since 8th August.

Today got helpful letter from Aqua dated 4th Aug’

Confirmation of my payment to curry’s Nov16

Until Monday it is then for dpd courier to collect laptop and return to Asus for repair.
