If this helps any one - just purchased 1000 euro for £914.49 from Sainsbury bank.
I phoned up as online kept kicking me out.
For the best deal you need a nectar card - gets you a better rate and also use promo code T2000 (£5 off per £500 minimum)
the rate I eventually got was 1.0935.
hope that helps someone.

The mid-market rate now is 1.1048, attainable with much less effort using Clarity, Monzo, etc.wantnomoneyworries wrote: »the rate I eventually got was 1.0935.Evolution, not revolution0 -

£914.49 on a Revolut card would have got just over €10100 -

To be fair, if you're off to USA, Chile or anywhere else where ATMs charge a fee the Sainsburys offer may have the advantage.0 -

Well I didn't bother reading what was included in the offer. I assumed it was more than one currency.0 -

Disregarding the euro issue a revolut card can be used to pay for anything with no fee0 -
ATMs will still charge a fee in the locations I mentioned.Disregarding the euro issue a revolut card can be used to pay for anything with no fee
There are scenarios where getting a good exchange rate for cash in the UK can be cheaper than getting a flat fee charge on a modest withdrawal at an overseas ATM. Even at "perfect" MasterCard rate.
Rare though.0 -

Not every ATM in those countries charges a fee. I certainly haven't ever paid a fee in the USA.
Chile is more difficult, but still possible.0
