  • How about a small package of Lush goodies for Valentines day,and maybe if she explained to them she was an author etc and using them as a prize hence they get advertising etc they may give her a small discount
Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream

that's a great idea! other people who run comps must get a fair amount of the prizes free. As she isn't a company as such I guess there will be less chance of that, but she might be able to do something along those lines :)

Sounds like a lovely prize (especially the signed books) but I agree that there are a lot of 'pamper me' type prizes around... and as I'm not a girly girl I quite like the idea of something more unusual or different but still a treat.

Whatever your sister decides I'll be sure to enter! Good luck to her with her books :)

  • An empty Wii box might grab people's attention for a bit :)

Failing that, toiletry packs are cheap to come by, & you can give them a fancier name for a prize in a competition :)

Some body asked me to bring it up in the discussion thread so I thought i'd email newsquest for an answer and this is what they wrote

You can enter any competition in any newspaper.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

    Regards
    Justine Duggan

so you CAN enter all the competitions in ALL there papers if you so wish

Thanks - that's great news - it takes some of the uncertainty away about posting stuff from these companies.

I'm pretty sure that it's the opposite with the emap radio stations, and I think that there is a gcap group too, but now we have a definite response from one group, thanks to YOU!!:A:A

    Thought no. 576:

Do any competitions ever NOT award prizes (yes, I am thinking about scams, among other things)?

    Thanks in advance.icon14.gif
