I have only been comping for a couple months, and like many other people I have tried various sites... However this is the only site that I use now. If you use the "Thanks" button you can tell if you have already entered the competition, or not, and with well over a hundred or more competitions per day being added to this site, it will take up all your time anyway!

i would just use this one, its really friendly and there are more than enough comps to keep me going! Other comp sites about are Loquax and Prizefinder, but I dont think they give the answers to all the questions but they do here!
comping is very very addictive, more so when you have got your first win!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
hi
Re Newsquests paper competitions (ie This is london, bucks press, etc)
I replied to a thread about whether you could enter only 1 competition per newsgroup or 1 competition per paper, I said that i thought it had been brought up in the past that you could enter all the competitions in all there papers.
Some body asked me to bring it up in the discussion thread so I thought i'd email newsquest for an answer and this is what they wrote
You can enter any competition in any newspaper.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Is there any way we could make a list of the ones you can only enter once and the ones you can enter all of them?
I emailed myvillage last week and the reply was that you can only enter each comp once.0 -
I apologize in advence for posting here, but I really wanted a fair amount of responses and I'm not sure enough people visit the discussion thread, but happy for this to be moved if the mods see best.
My sister is an author and she has tried to run a competition on her website before, but only got three entries! I told her that she needed to get the competition out to the right sites and told her I could post it here.
She is trying to decide what to make the prize. She is a romantic author and was thinking of doing a Valentines competition, to include signed copies of all her books and a pampering pack, including bath goodies, chocolates.
She doesn't have a lot of money for the prize, so really wants to spend it wisely. What would be a prize that would entice you to enter this competition? I did suggest that maybe runner up prizes is a good idea, as you know you have more chance of winning if there is more than one prize.
Thank you so much for any replies.

Of course when she runs the competition MSE'ers must win it.0 -
I think that sounds perfect. Also include alot of phrases compers would search forNerdy Comper since 2005:D0

If she posted it on her, i'm sure she would get a great response.
The ideas you have already mentioned are great. I'd love to win these prizes.
Good luck in deciding, and i hope to enter the comp in the near future.0 -
I would say probably just use gift vouchers as prizes, not very original but then people can get what they want with them.
The signed copies of her books and stuff sound good too though.0 -
the thing is there are so many competitions for a pampering pack etc...
I like the idea of the signed books though.
How about 2 nice wine glasses and a bottle of wine

or look at this page..http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/valentines-day-gifts/index.html
it has some great and inexpensive a little more unusual gifts....
Good Luck to you sister...and let us know when the comp will be..Good Luck All

Signed books is a good idea. What about offering to visit the winner's local bookgroup/ school to do a talk? (of course that'd only work if its not too far for your sister to travel to, although it might be able to be combined with a local news story to publicise her book)
I've noticed jewellery is always a popular prize (have you any friends that make stuff to sell on ebay - maybe earings?)From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
