    Hi

Am off work at the moment after an op on my leg - so comping like mad!!!

How do you generally find out if you have won something??? Do they email - as I am worried (if I ever win  ) it will go to my spam box!

Also - generally how long after the comp closes are you notified?

    thanks

    xx

There's no set rules. Some comps write, some email, some phone. Depends on the details you are asked to provide when entering the comp. Some T&Cs specify that they will contact you a certain way, some don't specify.

As for how long till they contact you.......guess what - that varies too! Every comp is different.

All I can say is check your emails carefully. Maybe set up a Yahoo or Hotmail account that you only use for comping - thats what a lot of peeps have done and it saves filling you normal inbox with confirmation of entry etc.
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

I saw the same program and decided to try comping!
problem is you have to be selective and you have to be compulsive- if you hope to be a winner (at some time). But it is good fun and it may be rewarding and you must understand this--- I have found that the community of compers are quite helpful and open with any new (players) and it is up to yourself to make of it as you will!
Peronally I love the idea , but it can take over your life, and that is what is worrying me.I wish all compers the very best in life - or whichever reality they reside - carry on !!! Like yourself I have only been involved for a short while so take it as you see it>
    yours awesomeorson!!

I totally agree with you. It can take over your life. ruin your eyesight etc etc. I think its a question of organisation, discipline and balance. Dont let it take over your life, life is too short. My need is to make sure I get plenty of exercise every day and that is the biggest hurdle I face. I know immediately if I have neglected this and try to make amends straint away. find the community lovely and supportive.

Are you with Orange? They are a nightmare and won't last one day more than the end of the contract with me.

  • Do you keep a note of ALL the competitions you enter....EVERY DAY?!

I was thinking that it may be useful to start doing so, to try and get an idea of how many I've entered, but then wasn't sure if it was worth it.

    Hey guys,

I got an email from the King of Shaves competition I entered a few days ago (here) and wondered if this was a standard email or whether it actually means I've been shortlisted? Here's what it says:

"Congratulations on successfully entering the King of Shaves John Terry Be a King competition. You and the lads from your club are now registered and are on the shortlist of teams who are still in with a chance of playing football with current England and Chelsea Captain John Terry. Whilst John is making his final decisions on his King of Players (winning teams will be announced next month), we are giving you even more chances to win some fantastic footy prizes. To have a chance of winning one of these great prizes simply answer the 5 quick questions below relating to your shaving habits, it's that easy and you could find yourself on the terraces at Stamford Bridge watching John and the rest of the Chelsea team in action as they try and catch Manchester United and Arsenal to recapture the Premier League title."
