I have recently cancelled my subscription to winners friend, more compettions on here, a lot of their comps in book run out few after you receive it, , but you do get e-mail updates of new comps and a site that lists all competitions they know about. wouldn't join again

I also, just before Xmas cancelled my subscription to winners friends.

It a good magazine, but I just ended up spending loads on stamps and most of my wins have been through this site anyway.

And as someone else said, there's enough on here to keep me going.
  • Agree with the comments of the previous posters - subscribed for a few months last year and won diddly squat from comps entered using the magazines.

On the flip side, won a lot of prizes (one a month on average) from the comps posted by the fab people on this Forum, and hardly spent a penny on postage.
Don't assume, it only makes an 'A$$' out of 'U' and 'ME'

    quick question

i won an ipod nano, received it. It was faulty and wouldnt connect to the computer (did at first but then said software fault or something along those lines), got in touch with the promotors running the comp who had sent the prize and they said send it back and i would receive another. This i did and had the new one yesterday.
Now comes the problem, this one has gone into the restore mode and wont come out of it, have tried and tried to get it out of it, havent got any songs or anything at all put onto the ipod. Have tried various things on the internet to get it out of this mode but it wont budge.

    What do i do?

Will apple be the best bet and hope they will sort it for me? Has anyone any experience of apple customer service?

I could get in touch with the promotor again but to be honest I dont like doing so again, it will look like i am wrecking them or something!

Would a local computer shop (an independent one) be able to sort it?

    Helllllpppppppppppp!:D

I know this sounds dumb but ipods all have a simple reset sequence have you checked that?

I have to do it often with the dh and ds ipods.

    RESET

Slide the hold switch to HOLD (on the top of the ipod) and back again.
Then press the menu and centre buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears.

That sorts it out if it jams on anything.
    Sorry if advice useless.
