I loved the open top bus tour of the city when I visited Belfast. Very entertaining. Also it is hop on / hop off so you can stop if anything takes your fancy.:D0

Hi all,
Once again, thanks for all of your suggestions
Hi dan2002
You said to try the Odessey Arena bars and restaurants. Will they be open after the concert, on the Friday evening?
We are debating wether to eat before or after the concert.
We don't mind eating in the city centre or at the arena itself.
Cheers

yes most people leave the concert and head into the bars (5 or 6 bars to suit all ages)or restaurants ,I would eat before the concert ,as the Odessey is a very popular place to go to and you might have to wait a while for your meals, so eat before you go, leaving the rest of the time to have a nice drink in the company of the good old Belfast folk0

Hi all
Hi dan2002
Thanks for that, we will hang around the arena after the concert and have a few drinks there. Sounds good to the both of us!
Will it be relatively easy to get a taxi back to our hotel after we have had a couple (or more) of drinks or could we walk?
We dont mind taxi or walking, depends on the weather...and the amount of alcohol we will have consumed
Itinary so far
Generally have a wander around on the Friday before we check into our hotel.
Friday teatime, eat out
Friday evening, concert
Friday late night, DRINKS at the arena
Saturday day, Open top bus tour
Saturday night, meal out in Belfast city and drinks
Sunday, home
Where would be a good, not necessarily moneysaving, place to eat and have a few drinks on the Saturday evening
Cheers

Just got back from a weekend in Belfast.
Fantastic!!
Def do the bus tour well worth it even for £11.
Have a drink in the Crown as advised by someone else and then have a great "craic" in Robinsons next door (back bar called fibbee magees) top class if you are up for it. If you are in to sport they had rugby, football and horse racing on at same time(dif screens) including the 3pm sat game live.
there are 2 AMPM restaurants we ate in both and had a good meal for about £25 a head.0 -
Hi all
Hi photome
AMPM restaurants???? What are they?
edit...just googled it...looks ok.....more than ok in fact, they look very very nice!
I have found two of them, 1 on Upper Arthur Street and 1 on Botanic Avenue
Which one is nearest to our hotel? (premier Travel Inn on Alfred Street)
Revised Itinary

The arthur street one is smaller and more intimate with a smaller menu and slightly more expensive..IMO prob the best of the two and if your hotel is city centre it is also the closest (I think..it was my first time in Belfast this weekend)...but both are within walking distance of the crown, Belfast centre is not that big.0 -

Hi all
Hi squiggle37
I can beat you there with regard to the flights as we paid 1p each, each way, for our flights, with Flybe, back in March (may have been April though)

if you are stuck for a taxi you can always phone the hotel and tell them you are stuck and am sure they will always get you one ,this has worked for me in a lot of hotels around the UK ,just play dumb.0
