Hi all,
Me and Mrs Sayer are flying to Belfast next Friday morning and we arrive at 7.45am, (city airport).
We are coming home two days later, from Belfast city airport at about 2.00pm
As we get into Belfast at 7.45am we would like help in finding things to do until our hotel room is ready at 2.00pm. We are staying at a Travel Lodge that is supposedly about half a mile from the airport, so we will walk there.
We would like to have breakfast and maybe a bit of a wander round.
What can we do?
On the Friday night we already have tickets to see Take That but would possibly like to go for a meal after the concert.
Where can we go?
On the Saturday, day and night, we have no plans at all.
Where should we go and where would be good places to eat?
As I said above, we are flying home on the Sunday but we would like to have a late breakfast.
Is there anywhere that would be suitable?
I look forward to your help
Cheers
Leo

The city hall is gorgeous- but the city centre is very nice, you'll find plenty shops too, for MRs Sayer, if she likes to shop.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

hi I dont know if you can walk it ,as I would say its more than 1/2 mile if its the 1 in Belfast city centre. If you have Booked into the travelodge in Brunwick Street you are about 3 1/2 mile away and at that time on a friday morning the road the airport is on will be like a car park.If I were you look out for the Metro bus from the airport theres one at 08.05 or next is 08.35 fares are about £1.30 or £2.20 return ,to the Europea bus centre ,round the corner from were you are staying ,as for things to do ,if its good take the open top bus tour it takes you around most of the city and at night try the Odysseyarena bars and restaurants0

the rear entrance to city airport is beside the Sydenham railway station .
there is a free bus from the airport to and from the station .( you need to cross the foot bridge to get the belfast train )
You can get a train to Great Victoria Street at 8:04 am .8:24am 8:49am .Journey time to Great Victoria street 14 minutes .

sydenham is on the Bangor to Portadown line .0 -

Hi all,
Thanks for all of your input
Firstly we are staying in the Premier Travel Inn on Alfred Street (sorry got it wrong in my first post) in Belfast city centre and as far as we are now aware it is about 2 miles from the airport.
Is this correct? Methinks a taxi would be required here but I will look into the train journey
We can't check into the hotel early in the morning, so we are looking for things to do to fill our time, bearing in mind we will be pulling a small suitcase behind us
As far as we are aware, the odyssey arena is about half a mile from our hotel, and we are planning to walk there, and walk back after the concert.
Is the arena half a mile from our hotel, or is it a bit more?
That black taxi tour sounds interesting, will just about any black cab do the tour?
The open top bus tour sounds good to us as well
Keep em coming!

yes taxi wood suit but it could cost a lot more as the metre will be running and anyone from Belfast knows at that time in the morning the Sydenham Bypass is like a car park and the Europe bus centre is the same place as the Train station and is not that far from your hotel ,as you say you are in no hurry0
