KW and I spent 3 1/2 hours yesterday going through my school stuff - I now know I have a post-it problem, a notebook problem and a pen problem.....so many!!
Going to put everything in boxes to sort out once we've moved
4 weeks 5 days to go!
I can now see the floor in my bedroom. KW is a wonder xxx0 -
Hurrah for half term and for KW and tidying. I have a pen problem. They are in a giant carrier bag in the spare room. lol. l
Weather is glorious again.:jAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
DD, KW and I had an awesome day out in Oxford yesterday
We bought some bits for the house, they went up the Saxon tower, KW treated us to yummy lunch and bought me a cool cushion with seagulls on it. I bought him a sign from the Bodlean library that will be attached to a bookcase
DD has started decluttering and packing - yippee!! She came across a huge stash of copper and 5p coins, most of which we have now paid into her savings account - with the 2ps being saved for our next trip to the seaside.
I've started writing my class' reports....bleugh. It's not so much the writing them, but knowing that the witch at school will no doubt read them and find fault with them, just because she can.
Anyway, I'll be on the final countdown soon enough0 -
Oxford it lovely. It's so good that you are all gelling and really enjoying yourselves. Keep having fun. :j
Sorry about doing the reports, I'm marking if it's any consolation. I can't wait till the summer hols when we can rest properly and you can enjoy the new house.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Sigh - end of an era, had my tax credits notice through and mine have finished.....£54.95 to be repaid (from future awards, but as I'm unlikely to get any awards in the future, just paid it off now, rather than have it hang over me.)
I've got brutal with the decluttering today - I took 7 more bags to my favourite charity shop. Yesterday, I was really put off one in another town, as we dropped some bags in, the lady asked if I did gift aid with them - I said I didn't but was happy to, but then she asked if I was a higher rate tax payer!
When I said no, just standard rate, she said "Well, it's not worth your while then". I thought claiming tax back was a bonus for them, no matter how much or little it was?!? Snooty mare....
I'll drive the extra couple of miles to my favourite place, where I get a cheery hello in welcome every time! Harrrumph!!
I had a really good counselling session today, feel like I'm making progress on the procrastination front. Next time we'll be talking how to tackle anxiety before I know what's happening.0 -
I dont even know what tax credits are? hope you are ok with them ending. I have filled in a gift aid card and they accept it whenever I donate a small item. What a snob she is. 7 bags????? How cathartic is that. You are so preparing for your new life. Hurrah.
Glad you had a good counselling session. Onwards and upwards.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Cash from the government for low paid and/or parents. They have been a life-saver at times! My only benefit of being a single parent has been that they, and my child benefit, were (are for CHB) paid weekly, meaning I've always had a bit of money dribbling in each week.
KW was, I think, eligible for working tax credits when we met, but he now has 3 part-time jobs, all paying minimum or not much moreso he probably doesn't qualify, even if he applied.
I'm probably going to have to call the tax people when we move in together to formally withdraw from that scheme, as our combined salaries will be too much, and they need to know all kinds of details.
Going to make myself a timetable for finishing off my reports and doing some English planning. Thankfully I don't have to plan for my maths class next week as they're disappearing off with the student teacher, so I'll be team teaching with the other teacher a smaller groupLooking forward to it!
Tomorrow I have some work-place counselling and am hoping to take DD for a swim and a nice day out before we go back to our respective sources of anxiety.
But in 29 days time, we'll be moving house, so I'm hoping we'll both stay focussed on the prize0 -
Oooh, I also put £1.05 in the pot and counted my Euros - 114 of them0
-
Hurrah for Euros. Every little helps. Only 32 days to go!
Good luck for counselling.:TAiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I've packed my kitchen stuff this morning, raiding the cupboards for my meagre collection of wine glasses, a vase, a saucepan....Thank goodness KW has stuff, otherwise I'd have to do a lot of shopping!
Going to pop into school for a short time and then hopefully take DD for a swim.0
