Thanks lovely - I'm a bit rubbish on the phone, so prefer to email or message. One of my amazing former colleagues (who left because of the head, at Christmas) has been helping me try to think things through. She much more feisty than me, I hate confrontation and nasty surprises take me back to a very bad time in my life, so I'm probably more stressed than some others might be :(:(

On a plus note, DD gave me £5 as she wanted me to let her download a film, which I said I would be happy to do anyway for a treat - but she insisted on giving me a £5 note, so I popped it straight into the sealed tin.

KW also insisted on giving me money for some cereal I bought on offer for his place, so I had a £2 coin for DD's netball match fees and put the other £1 in the tin as well :)

Shame the tin's so mahoosive, it's taking forever to fill up, but will come in very handy I hope in the summer!

I hope you continue to have a good day. Union sounds great. I hate bullies. Life would be so much better without them.

Flipping union..... Tried to message my rep on his given mobile but it couldn't send, so after school called the head office helpline, left a voicemail and haven't heard 😓

The day was stressful, but the kids were pretty cool, lots of excitement and some great ideas on lessons.

No suitable jobs came up on the weekly newsletter so I'll be scouring the local school websites daily.

On a plus, it's a nsd again and on Wednesday I'll have an extra £40 in my pay packet which will go straight to the savings account.

I managed to avoid the head, but am scared every time an email pops up on my phone in case it's her. I was like this for years after my ex husband left, stressed in case he was going to send a text or email 😫😫

Anyway, I'm seeing my beloved tomorrow evening and life will be far sweeter again!

Well done on coping with work. I hope you have a great day with KW tomorrow. It's good you are looking for jobs. Wonder how many people this head has driven away.

  • Grrrrrr, have you had any response from the union yet? I call that "telephone tennis" where you leave them a voicemail, they call you back and leave voicemail and then you have to leave another voicemail! Kind of amusing if it isn't so frustrating!!

I know exactly where you're coming from with not liking to talk on the phone, so if you're really nervous then I'd think about maybe jotting down a few notes (even just single words) on paper to jog your memory and make sure you mention everything you need/want to. I'm on anti-depressants at the moment and they've completely messed up my short memory so I'm massively into preparing and making notes in advance for everything in my life!!!

Hope you've had/are having a fab day today. It's actually SUNNY here for the first time in weeks, hopefully you've got some nice weather too :D

We've got the mortgage offer :) but I can't feel excited because I've also got the formal invitation to a meeting to hear how rubbish I am, how I've failed to respond to help etc, with HR and possibly my union in attendance.

I spoke to the union chap today and he was very supportive, but I still have to go through this pants stuff.

In slightly more interesting news, a job has come up at a school, which isn't my 'dream school' but I vaguely know someone there who is having a brilliant time on his NQT year. I'm going to go for it as it's well-known that once a head gets a bee in his/her bonnet, they won't ever change their mind.....

Fantastic news on the mortgage. Ignore the work meeting as in go but don't take anything to heart as this head obviously has an agenda. Remember the union is there. Do apply for the other job. Fingers crossed with it all. Keep focussing on your house. Things will get better v soon as you will be moving. :)

Things are seriously bleugh right now :( We might not even buy the house as we're not sure DD is ready to have a 'father figure' and is showing many signs of stress, which is very worrying; school is seriously pants, I'm living on adrenaline and fear.

    But in less depressing news:

    * I fancied Chinese last night but went to Lidl on the way to KW's and bought a stir fry kit, very cheap ciders, squash and some bhajis and samosas (as they didn't have any spring rolls) and we had a scrumptious meal, washed down with fruity cider, for less than the cost of a dish from a decent takeaway! :)

    * Had to get a bulb for my car and it was bought and fitted with change from £1!!

    * Haircut and eyebrow taming done - I can't leave it as long next time, I was putting the Dulux dog out of business!

    * 50p in the pot today :)

I hope DD can be talked round. I hope work calms down for you. Well done on nice food, savings, car bits, and that you are no longer a Dulux Sog. lol.
