Thanks everyone, i am going to back off and not contact him anymore. He isn't making me feel good and he is just seeing me for his own personal gain. Time to give up with that one! Thanks alwaysworking i will take a look

It would be good to have him as a friend. By what you saying you do not see him as a friend though so it is not going to work.
In reply to your question- the world is not black and white (likes/does not like). He likes you enough to have some interaction with you , he does not like you enough to have a relationship with you. I am not sure why you are confused - he started relationship with someone else after having known you, he is being platonic with you now - what makes you confused ?

To step in actually like women every man is different, its interesting how people talk about gender stereotypes then forget them if they have a set opinion.

Sure myself is autistic but I have made people feel like I fancy them male or female as I am quite timid and friendly just as I may look in someones direction and they assume I like them when I haven't even seen them and looking at something like the door or if a friends arrived.

Just as a woman can be all bubbly and even flirty as part of her personality with zero attraction to the male. (or female)

Then we have tick box things as thats all we have to guess.

Its possible this guy was a user but its also possible theres some middle ground like he just found someone he clicked with on all levels who didn't like him speaking to other women, or he thought breaking it off with the op would be hard or whatever, doesn't justify it but its not a one size fits all.

I think rach further up shows a possible scenario, like I say it could be a middle ground it also shows the differences between how most females and most males think in this sort of situation.

I msged him to say I can no longer see him as a friend as I have feelings for him and I am only setting myself up for disappointment. He confirmed my thoughts about him being arrogant and selfish as his response was 'I didn't think I was that irresistible'. I politely told him he wasn't and that he has flaws like everyone else!

Safe to say I feel alot better with having severed ties, and actually even if he was interested in me it would never of worked, he is extremely self absorbed which is a shame as he can be a lovely person too!

We live and learn, thanks for the advice everyone

Good - now onwards and upwards. Don't feel too bad about this episode - everyone has to kiss a few frogs before Prince Charming appears - just tick him off as one of the frogs! xx
