As predicted, a tiny 41p round down now got £92.74 in savings. Looking to get Hs cd I'm getting him for Xmas this week so it will be going down again quite soon. Might be a bit of a struggle, I had a look last night and quite a few of the options are sold out. It's-a Dutch artist so I'm struggling to know which one to get as Amazon don't translate to English. It might even be that the decision is made for me because of the limited options available. So, could be my savings are down to around £70 quite soon

Try Discogs - they sell new and used and tend to have a wide range of stuff!0 -
I'll investigate that tomorrow thanks DSL x0

Good to hear you OH job is safe, although it still sounds like it’s a stressful time for him, so hope it all calms down soon.
Good luck with finding the CD, and how are the kittens settling in now?

Ggrr, just lost a big post!
DSL, I've looked at discogs and they have some of his cds but they're not in the UK so the postage via Amazon is my home cheaper, but Discog is great, they had tracklists for the albums so it will help me decide so thanks for that recommendation
Reb, they are really settled now, very cheeky and little furry Tasmanian Devils.. Girly kitten has just spent an hour shredding newspaper which is always helpful. Older Grumpy Cat is still grumpy, we have just ordered one if those calming plug in devices to see of that helps. She doesn't bother the kittens but winds herself up...im not really sure what's OK and what's not, she's eating, using her tray, being as sociable as ever with us-not very. She has come and Sat in the living room with us at night a couple of times and spent some time not growling-she has rediscovered her stool by the woodburner. And she used the kitten tray last night in a 'this is mine' sort of way... The kittens approach her alot, but she just growls and hisses, ur doesn't out them off though.
If she wasn't eating or having any accidents I would be worried but I think this is just settling in behaviour. She is perfectly happy and purry, demanding attention when there's no little furries and still sleeps on our bed at night...0 -
NSD 7 today, unlikely to reach my target of 11 for October but I'm still going for it.
Done a couple of PA surveys today and am now £11+ that will nearly cover Hs cd for Xmas, so rest of my savings will cover other stuff too. We put a limit on what we spent on each other last year of around £25 and i'm happy to do that again. I've already got a couple of boxes of toiletries for daughter and her partner as part of their present and will prob spend another £20-30 on them between them. Last year they'd just moved into their first home so we got them personal presents and a house present. Might do the same again this year. We pretty much have our grandsons presents finished and then it's just Hs mum and brother and we're sorted. We have a weird little cupboard under the attic stairs, - my Xmas cupboard with the decorations in and also crackers and reduced price cards from last year, there's also a small section where I can stand up the rolls of gift wrap so I'm hoping that this year I won't end up buying cards etc because I can't find the safe place I put them in last year!0 -
Definitely not a NSD today, there's always tomorrow..
I bought the cd for part of Hs Xmas, I have almost all the amount at PA so when I get it I can repay my savings.
Spent a bit on some craft stuff today, I'm doing a stall at a Christmas fair, it's a fine line between getting/spending just enough and blowing any possible future profits.. Have a horrible feeling I'll just be left with lots of stuff, if I am ill try it on etsy or to the food bank as gifts.
Nothing else to report, really tired though so I'm off to bed, night all0 -
My sleep is really messed up at the minute, yesterday I woke at 2am and this morning just after 3am....ifibd there's no point trying to get back to sleep while H is there breathing.. How irritating is that when you're trying to get back to sleep? So I decamp into the spare bedroom and listen to the radio until I nod off again... Thank goodness for iplayer!
Anyway, feeling a bit low, so looked back at my October goals and was surprised that I'm doing OK really.
*11 NSD's might be pushing it-I'll be on, 7 today. If I get to 10 I'll be happy though.
*freezer is down to about 1/3 full, hoping to defrost at weekend
*have stuck to shopping from the freezer in the majority this month. Got a m+s eat in for £10 and lastnight-bloody I bought some pasties for £2.
*declutter not going great, H is off next week so we'll get onto it then and aiming for this still in October
*personal declutter.. Rubbish, I got rid of some holey socks and 4 books
*still saving and tidying over at least twice a week
*credit card still not paid off, could be but fed up with asking about it. I'll just carry on for now as it is.
Other positives..
we cancelled old pet insurance straight away and set this up into savings for kitten expenses.
Queried a credit card that looked like the 0% wasn't actually 0%...turned out to be all OK, but felt OK for checking rather than just hanging on.
Bizarrely, we have now cancelled me on Hs car insurance as a learner which was costing £50 a month... When H rang the guy at insurance company said the payment won't change... Yet we paid £50 a month.. Hmm.. Keeping an eye on this..0 -
I love the PA surveys and doesn’t seem to take to long to build up does it.
That’s very strange about the car insurance, might be worth ringing back and asking them to explain why the payment is lower, it doesn’t sound at all right.
Sounds like you re doing great with your goals, and even if you don’t get all your NSD’s it’s still a really good amount that you have achieved, I think it’s a great idea to look back at goals and see the progress made, I know it always helps me.
Hope you get a better nights sleep

You do get a discount for having common law/spouse on your policy and there would also be an admin fee to change anything so maybe they balance themselves out. I would have a look online when its due for renewal at the difference with you on and without you on.Change the way you see things and the things you see will change0
