some people are soooo rude.
They just appreciate quality.
I blew duck eggs for the kiddies to decorate at Easter last year. Porcelain like absolute beauties....I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -

My domestic goddess halo has well and truly slipped this morning (if I'm honest I'm not sure I ever had one lol). My almost 4 year old Daughter requested a dippy egg for breakfast, and I failed dismally. She was traumatised and looked so disappointed in me for failing such a simple task:rotfl:. In my defence my toasted soldiers were perfect but apparently they are no good without something to dip them in!
So the question is out of the million and one ways to boil an egg, which method do you find fool proof? I shall put each method before the stringent testing of my DD.
PS before I get pounced upon for pandering to the little darling, she isn't usually demanding at all, last year for xmas she requested a pink cake and a chocolate cake and that was it, and this year it is a yo-yo!0 -
My sister told me this method the other day .. If the egg is kept in the fridge, boil the water then put the egg in and wait for 5 minutes... always perfect runny eggs! it worked for me. I can't remember how long to boil the egg for if they aren't kept in the fridge though0

I only like hard boiled, but the OH loves runny eggs.
I put them (room temp) in a pot of cold water, let it come to boil, then boil for three minutes, seems to do the trick."Ignore the eejits...it saves your blood pressure and drives `em nuts!"0 -

Poor boiling water from the kettle on to an egg that's been in the fridge - poor onto the saucepan not directly onto the egg or it'll crack - and boil for 4 mins. Perfect; runny but not "snotty" iykwim."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." I use egg coddlers, they take a bit longer to cook but you can check on them by taking the lid off and see how they're doing from time to time. It also doesn't matter if you break the yolk when cracking them in they still cook perfectly0
