So would the stamps still be able to be used individually if required?
I’m thinking about the packs I have that are unlikely to go for much on eBay.
The problem is that if the packs are more than a few months old then they will likely have £1.70 stamps in them and this is now an obsolete rate.  To use them on a letter to Europe would mean buying 15p in stamps to make the new rate.  So unless you can use them together to make a higher value for parcels - or £1.70 plus 1st Class on a letter to USA or Aus then you might be better off splitting the pack.  Use the 1st class as normal and sell the other values on eBay as mint stamps.  You won't get a premium price for them but as long as you cover your costs then as  kerri sez - it's still cash to you.
I need to think of something new here...

I quite often receive Kantar items in the post without a mark on the postage stamp used on the envelope. Once in a blue moon the postie will put a line thru the stamp with his pen 😬. I used to reuse these envelopes and just cover the address with the many labels we are left with. Can I do the same with these new fangled postage stamps? Are they any more unique than the old type?

i think the new stamps have some sort ot tracking device built in them but what they track I'm not sure.  I,ve read it,s actually illegal to reuse stamps which have once gone through the system but don't know whether anybody has ever been prosecutes for doing so.

If you had simply reused the envelopes - covered the stamps as well as the address - and added fresh stamps then you could continue to do the same when the new stamps are used.

If you didn't cover the used postage stamps (yes, used, they had done the job of getting the pack to you), then that was fraud.  And because you would not have been alone, the new stamps have the extra security which should stop that.

That was the whole point of the barcoded stamps, the barcoded will be unique and will only work once. If its been sent through twice the qr code should alert royal mail about it

This is stamp fraud and Royal Mail do prosecute people for reusing stamps.

The new stamps have unique 3D barcodes so will flag up if someone tries to use them more then one
  • Just a query regarding the correctly delivered and unaddressed mail surveys, just wondering if anyone else has the same issue. I get the correctly delivered invitation come up but if I’m quick enough to accept it, it thanks me for joining the unaddressed mail survey. I never actually get the correctly delivered but seem to be almost constant on the unaddressed one, which I don’t mind as it’s £5 pretty regularly. I’ve messaged them this week with a screen shot of it as I got the correctly delivered invite on Monday but no reply yet. Does it happen to anyone else? It seems to happen if I’m on the website or if I use the app on my phone.

I get exactly the same. I often get invitations to correctly delivered, but then it turns out each time that it means unaddressed.

So I'd always assumed they were interchangeable names for the same survey, until now I hadn't realised they were actually different ones!

I often have the same issue @MrsElliot I just accept the invitation and take whatever arrives.

I seem to complete more unaddressed mail surveys than correctly delivered, both types are easy to do.

Yes, I have had this too.

However, their was an app update about a month ago which I think was supposed to fix this..
