I’m using the envelopes for storage, no problem with that legally. By all means jump to conclusions if you wish!

I always stipulate my storage envelopes are unfranked.
    Be embarrassing if they weren't'
    Classic :rotfl:

Most of my received large envelopes are not franked either, Has anyone tried re-using them ?
I had 2 cubes to post, Done a hand written on first sealed it then went to stick the label on the other and noticed it already had stamps on it. took me ages to peal the stamps of and stick them on the other cube. Also a few weeks ago I messed up a couple of 1st & 2nd class letters and just swapped the stamps over. Not heard anything so I guess the all went through OK.

    Do you understand the difference?
An unfranked stamp has no value. It has been used for the service it was payment for.

I just logged into the website and got an Unaddressed Mail survey for 14th October - go go go!
    2020 Wins:
  • Don't Royal Mail use UV franking? So what might appear to be an unfranked stamp (on a storage envelope, or otherwise) might not be.

Hang on - surely dobbie is referring to unused stamps on packages about to go out but ze put the wrong label on the wrong package and tried to swap the stamps form one to the other - legal but awkward. I would have used the excess labels on the rest of the sheet to swap the addresses over instead :D
I need to think of something new here...
  • Well today I received a package containing my final notification for this stint and a d-day presentation pack, and the two books of stamps - but I'd already had this in a parcel two weeks ago except then they sent the Elton John pack.
So I called them and they said they hadn't sent them and it must be my mistake....! I have emailed now and will see what they say, I don't like the idea that I have accidentally got someone else's goodbye gift.

Which is why there is a difference.....
