You should have received a book of 12 first class stamps plus a book of 4 large letter stamps when you started your training. Now you are on the live survey you should receive the same again plus a pack of presentation stamps. You will then receive the two books of stamps once a month until you finish on the survey for your 6 month break - you will then receive a second presentation pack of stamps. Hope that makes it a bit clearer :)

Thank you! My stamps and presentation pack have just arrived. Makes it more worthwhile.
I didn't know RM had books of 3 large letter stamps.

How did you receive the unfranked stamped large envelopes? You don't say whether they were addressed or not. If they were addressed to you then they have been through the postal system and are not a "reward". Or are you counting envelopes which you are supposed to use in the survey?

OK a typo, it was 4. Every large envelope I have received through the post has not had the stamp on it franked.

So it is not a "reward". It is a used item and should go into your recycling bin.

Most of my received large envelopes are not franked either, occasionally the postman scribbles over them. I have quite a few jiffy bags too that seem to miss the franking but I not sure about re-using them in case they have any invisible marking on them. Has anyone tried re-using them ?

I think trying to reuse the stamps nowadays would not succeed as I think they have made the stamps to tear if you try and remove them (on the large stamp see the oblongs on either side at the bottom).

I too have found most not to be franked.

When I was doing this.... I reckon about 1 in 4 large envelopes and jiffy bags missed the franking - with about half of those getting the emergency cancel by postie's pen.

You should be recording that anyway - so if there was a greater incidence in your area - it would eventually be recognised and investigated.

BTW - the pen scribble is an annoyance for philatelists - they would rather have a proper clear cancel stamp.
I need to think of something new here...

I’m using the envelopes for storage, no problem with that legally. By all means jump to conclusions if you wish!

After 5 weeks I've finished my training!

Next lot of parcels are to real addresses, actually the nearest one it would be easier to walk to the address than the post office!

I hope I start getting some rewards for this, because so far all I have had is one roll of tape and a book of 3 large first class stamps, plus a few unfranked stamped large envelopes.

so if you are using the envelopes for storage what difference does it make if the stamps are franked or unfranked?....presumably none.

but by referring to the envelopes as unfranked, its perfectly reasonable for others to assume you might be suggesting a reuse of them.

I assume during your training you also received franked items lots more envelopes and indeed packets that could also be used for storage too,but I guess it was the particular reference to unfranked that prompted the responses from others.

Although what we do love on here is ideas of what to do with the pieces of polystyrene or foam that is received in the cubes.
