I'm going to Croatia in 6 weeks time and noticed they are in the EU, but not in the Schengen area, yet. Will I need to queue up with the ones flying to Palma and the other busy tourist airports or will there be a separate queue?

A couple of years ago, a colleague, her Turkish husband and their son drove from NW Leicestershire to Antayla, Turkey where his family live. It took them just over 2 days of travelling - 5am leaving home on Thursday and arrived there at 1am Saturday Turkish time. Got the Eurostar, drove to Italy to get the Ancona - Igoumenitsa ferry (15-16 hours). Then drove the very north of Greece. DH and DS did 90% of the driving. On the way back, they drove to Hamburg where another relative lives.

They did it in a Seat Altea. They did their research esp for petrol stations as they are rare in some parts of the journey
