  • You're always on the go MT. I feel so lazy when I read how much you're always doing...
    You're just as bad!!!
I suppose I'm one of those people that finds it hard to sit still for long and I have a very active brain (not a clever one, just one that doesn't stop thinking) - every now and again I have a lazy day but one is always enough, I get bored with myself :)

Anyway, today is a busy one, lots to do - work, vet, errands, haircut - in that order.....
I realised this morning that I didn't spend anything at all yesterday, that doesn't happen very often! Will be a spends day today though, but all planned into budgets so hopefully no surprises.

I started one of the new books called Behind Closed Doors by BA Paris. It's one of those that you want to see what happens next - I've read about a third of it already but that meant a late night, might regret it later today.
Also have had an email from the bank with my "benefits" choice for the year for having the account - will receive 6 more free cinema tickets that are valid for a year. They'll come in handy and will save me quite a bit.

Right, better get on with the first dog walk and then get stuck into some more work for a few hours.

Got a lot done yesterday - did a few hours work in the morning and finished off another few things, just have a couple of smaller tasks to finish off and I'm ready for the onslaught of school life again.
Also picked up the dogs tablets from the vet (£65), dry cleaning (£50) and a pair of shoes for work I'd ordered from M&S then went to get my hair sorted out. He's cut quite a bit off and put lots of layers in it and sorted out the colour. It looked nice yesterday - we'll see what looks like when I have to do it today ;)
Then walked the dog and went out for a drink with OH (£10 spent) and had a takeaway that I didn't really want but he was very keen. Tried to minimise the damage to the diet by choosing as well as the menu allowed and only had about half of what was delivered and have left the leftovers with him so I'm not tempted to eat it. Will have be really good today and tomorrow if I'm going to lose anything this week......

I have lots of little jobs to do today (and possibly tomorrow if I don't get them all done) so a list is in order.....

    Dog walks - done
    Run
Write shopping list and meal plan - done
    Grocery shopping - done
    Hoovering and dusting - done
    Car wash and Hoover
    Clean bathrooms - done
    One load of washing
Try on all new clothes to see if anything needs taking back - done
Cut grass in front garden - done
    Batch cook something - done
    Phone mum - done
    Possibly finish tidying out wardrobe

In addition, I have the schoolwork to finish so a busy day ahead.
Will start with a dog walk and shopping list and look to see if I have any money off vouchers knocking about - I think I may have some sainsburys vouchers but will need to check if they're still valid.

Will get changed and begin the list with a visit to the park......
  • That's a brilliant loss at SW, well done you.

I am impressed with your clothes investment too, I do so hate clothes shopping.

I absolutely hate clothes shopping too - I tend to go a couple of times a year and do a big shop, I'm definitely not a browser or pleasure shopper or someone that just goes for a look. It's torture for me :)

Taken the dog to the big park for a good bit of fresh air and exercise, done a stock up shop at sainsburys with a £5 off voucher and put the shopping away and cleaned the kitchen.
Spent £65 in total but have loads of fresh fruit and veg and fridge bits and have stocked up on toiletries, dog food and some household bits and bobs. I won't need any of that sort of stuff for a few weeks. There's £135 left of the grocery budget for the month - should be plenty.

The sun has come out so I'll try to do the outdoors stuff first today to make the most of it.
  • Got lots of jobs done off the list by lunchtime and so spent a couple of hours in the sunshine in the garden finishing reading my book - it's one of those can't put down ones with a real twist at the end - really enjoyed it. Then after lounging about all afternoon I took the dog for a 30 min brisk walk so I haven't been as lazy this afternoon as I feel :)

Have batch cooked (just waiting for it to be ready) and tried on all the new clothes again - it's all staying. I have plenty of work clothes and shoes now and won't be buying anymore for at least 6 months.

Going to watch some telly this evening and relax. Will finish off all the work stuff tomorrow morning so I'll have the afternoon and evening free. I have been invited to a last minute BBQ this evening but don't fancy it really - I'm not drinking, don't eat meat and will only know one or two people so have excused myself politely. I must be getting unsociable in my old age but really don't care ;)

Going to browse the sky planner and see if there's anything that grabs me.....I'm a miserable old bat I know :)

Woke up at 4.30 after 6 hours sleep and am wide awake with no hope of going back to sleep. I suppose I have to get up at 5.30 tomorrow for work so it won't hurt to get back into the swing of things and a routine but still a bit irritating.

Have quite a bit to do today ......

    Walk the dog - done
    Do a run
At least 3 hours school work- done
Clean the car in and out - done
Get new handbag ready for work - done
Decide on what to wear tomorrow - done
Make a batch of soup - made 2
    Do a face mask
Tidy out the storage chest in the downstairs loo - done
Sort the new shed - waiting for next door neighbour to take old one away
    Bath the dog

Think that's it but will add to the list if I think of anything else.

I sorted out a drawer of cosmetics, hair products and face creams etc last night and found some things that I forgot I had, some of which are really nice and should be used up. I've been slowly ploughing through half used bits and bobs in the bathroom cabinet for the past couple of weeks and have finished off a few things like body moisturiser, make up remover, shampoo and conditioner etc. Apart from saving money on new things it's also de cluttering a little, and it's making me a bit more "looked after" and groomed ;). Just need to keep it up once I'm back in work......
  • Took the dog for a good walk around the park at first light around 6.30am and chatted to a fellow dog walker that, strangely, it turns out is a really distant relative! We can trace our families back about 3 or 4 generations to Hereford and have never met before other than to say hello while walking the dogs. Small world, phoned mum and related the story and she vaguely knows who I mean. They live 250 miles apart!

Came back and sat down to finish off the work that needs doing for this week - took about 2.5 hours but I'm sorted now. Then sorted out clothes for tomorrow and filled the new work handbag, it looks quite empty now but will be stuffed with useless paraphernalia by the end of the week I'm sure ;)

Have also cleaned the car in and out but it's pouring with rain now so you can't really tell it's been done.
Went mad and made 2 batches of soup - leek and potato and butternut squash. Will have some for tea tonight and there's at least 3 large portions for lunches or quick teas for the week - all completely free food for the diet too. It's weigh in day tomorrow ......
I'm waiting for the rain to ease a little so I can walk the dog - he's not keen on the rain so it's no fun for him when it's wet, especially as he's getting on a bit now.

Going to have a nice soak in the bath after the walk and do a face mask and probably watch telly this evening - I got up so early that I'll probably be shattered later.
Half looking forward to going back to work tomorrow and half wanting to stay home for another week - at least there's no kids for the first 2 days :)
  • Strangely enough MT, I was wide awake early this morning too. Half three for me - although I did go back to sleep at 6am and I won't have that luxury tomorrow.
Hope you have a good first day back.
  • Thanks Cat - it was a fitful nights sleep - no kids in today either! They come back on Wednesday ..... Bracing myself.

INSET today - long day with lots of meetings and I had to do 2 presentations to the whole staff on results etc. all went well though. Left at 4pm (got in at 7am) and came straight home to change and collect the dog and go to fat club......he waited in the car whilst I ran in to get weighed......2lbs lost :)
Much better than I thought it might be with the wine and Indian takeaway so very happy with that - that's 10.5 lbs lost now in two weeks. Hoping for another 2 lbs next week, need to keep the momentum going now I'm back in work.
After fat club I took the dog straight to the park for a trot around for half an hour then had tea using up bits from the fridge with a jacket spud and cheese. Also made some pasta salad with leftover bits and cheese etc for work lunches for a day or two, very organised for me..... ;)

Going to take the dog out for a post-tea short wander then settle down for the evening followed by a fairly early night ready for INSET day 2 tomorrow....
  • Hurrah for the 2lb, clearly wine and takeaway work :p
