Been to work all day to process the GCSE results ready for tomorrow. Long day with some highs and lows that carried on with more work this evening. I barely slept last night for thinking about results and so am really tired now I've stopped. Will be having an early night tonight.
Will be back in work tomorrow but should be in for 8ish and home around 2pm after a senior leadership meeting following giving the kids their results.
Will still have lots of reporting to do and documents to write but the main points are already sorted out.

Other than that have done nothing but walk the dog and have tea. I made leek and potato soup yesterday and had the rest of it tonight - was glad that all I had to do was warm it up. I'm sticking to the diet so far, fingers crossed I'll have a loss on Monday. My lady time arrived today too so hopefully some of the bloat was just temporary ;)

I'll either make a big pot of bean chilli or a spaghetti bolognese tomorrow that can either go in the freezer or be eaten over the next few days.

I haven't spent anything today so that's positive on the money front.
No big plans for tomorrow other than work so hopefully that will continue.
Dad had some good news about the cancer today - the blood indicators have decreased a little and the tumour hasn't grown at all, he's continuing with the medication and can put off radiotherapy for now - a big relief for all:)
Need a big sleep so I'm off to bed soon.....

Hope your school does well with the GCSES and you get lots of the elusive 9's!!!!

My youngest son is going into Y10 this year so hoping all the niggles will have been sorted by 2019 when he takes his.

Thanks Louby and Enthusiastic - it's been a long day with ups and downs for staff and students. My department (science) has done well with no really big shocks but other subjects have been variable (maths especially).
Will need to do a lot of work to really pick through the whole school results but not tonight.....

Going out for a drink with OH and the dog later - can't see it being a late one though - it's been a really busy roller coaster two days and we're both pooped......

Morning all. Went for a drink but was home by 9.30 (was driving and OH bought the drinks so no spend) and in bed by 10.15 listening to an audio book - rock and roll ;)

It seems like a nice day today so far - the sun is out and it's dry so far - so I'm going to try to get some outside activities done while the weather holds.

    I need to ...
    Cut the grass - done
    Sort out the shed
    Clean the car
Take the dog to the park - done
Possibly go for a run - done
    Hoover and dust - done
Put the clean washing away- done
    Clean the bathrooms - done
Buy some paint and brushes - done
Go to the pet shop - done

It's the dog's birthday today - he's 13 years old. It's a tradition that we go to the pet shop and he has a lovely sniff about and I buy him some treats - he loves it there and gets really excited when we park outside. It's daft I know but I've done it every year since he was a puppy so I'm carrying on with it.

I do need to get stuck into some work too but I want to get some things done before I sit down to do it as I've had two busy days at work and want to feel like I'm still on holiday to some extent.

Hello lcc!! Great to see you xx

Have been to the park and walked the dog and then let him potter while I did a 30 min run, a bit easier this time than on Tuesday so I think I'm finally detoxing from the holiday ;)
Went straight to the retail park and bought some paint and a roller and brushes in Wickes - it was BOGOF on the paint so ended up with a tin of paint that I don't really need but thinking about it I can always use it to freshen up the bathroom at some point (it's just cream so is neutral), the original paint is to do the downstairs loo which needs a coat after a leak from upstairs. Total cost was £23 for brushes, rollers and 2x 2.5 litres of emulsion so not bad at all and has come out of the leftover holiday euro money.
Then popped to Pets At Home with the dog and bought him some treats and let him have a good sniff about and thoroughly enjoy himself. Only cost £6, again out of the holiday money. There's £70 left of it , £50 of which is put aside for the lock change next week, so £20 left over, will think about what I can spend it on for the house rather than fritter it away.

Going to tackle the grass next before I have a shower - little sit down first though........

Had a mad couple of hours and have cut the grass, cleaned the house right through ( hoovered, dusted, cleaned the bathrooms and wooden floors, sorted the bins, tidied round, cleaned the kitchen) and now have a sparkly tidy house and front garden. The back garden still needs cutting but it's spotting to rain so may leave that until tomorrow.

Going to sit down, have some lunch (diet still going well so far) and then maybe think about doing one of the household jobs from my big list. Or have a rest....

Morning all. Spent the night with OH but was awake early so came home about 8am so he could have a lie in.
I've got the weekend to myself so I'm just considering what to do and I'm thinking of driving over to North Wales to take the dog to the beach and have a potter around for a bit of a change of scene today. It's about a 75 min drive so not too far.

I have lots of school work and jobs to do but it is the weekend so I want to do something to make it feel like a weekend before I get stuck into the essential stuff.
Think I'll just get the dog round the block for toilet duties and then shower and set off - have just talked myself into it!
