Hello red - thank you for dropping in - I'm not very glamorous am I with all this talk of sheds:)
Awake fairly early this morning after an early night with the new book (a Martina Cole type story about a woman in the 70s in gangster London - quite readable so far). I did manage another couple of hours of work last night whilst watching the telly, really breaking the back of it now.
It's finally a nice day here so will try to get out and make the most of it for a while with the dog. Need some fresh air and sunshine - this allergic reaction is doing my head in now - really itchy, might go to a different chemist to ask their opinion if I'm passing. I don't think it's worth a doctors visit but a second opinion won't hurt.
No big plans for today other than getting out and about and doing more work. Need to decide whether I really need my roots doing tomorrow or whether I could get away with another week or so - the problem is that it seems to go grey overnight and one day it looks ok but the next I look like a badger
. I could save the money but I don't think that I can fit it in during the week after my holiday due to work and picking up the dog from Wales.
Need to put some petrol in ready for the dog drop off on Saturday but it's been budgeted for, might see if I can leave it until tomorrow but the petrol light is on in the car. If it stays dry and the back garden dries out I'll cut the grass so it's tidy for going away.
Now starting to eat out of the freezer to use up what's in rather than buy more - think it's a bean chilli for tea tonight and a bagel for lunch, supplemented by the end of the stewed blackberries and apple that I foraged earlier in the week - might pop a tub in the car in case I see anymore and put them in the freezer.
Right, enough of the waffle - time to get out with the dog.0 -
Just checked bank accounts - all ok there, no surprises and everything seems fairly healthy at the moment.
Fingers crossed it stays that way xx0 -
Dog walked, £50 worth of petrol put in, parking fine paid on the automated line before it doubles in cost and some cream bought from the chemists for £2.
Just going to do a couple of hours work and wait for the garden to dry out.
Hopefully it will stay fine and dry......0 -
Having a little celebratory rest from work as I've finished all the lessons to teach right up until October half term - very chuffed with myself as that's a huge amount of work that I won't have to do when I'm back in work

Have also done some email and admin and so am pretty on top of the general teaching stuff now.
Still need to write 2 big reports and an action plan and then do all of the GCSE analysis when the results are out - will try to write at least one of the reports either today or tomorrow to get it out of the way. I'm really glad that I've forced myself to work this week as its a big weight off my shoulders and will make life so much easier in the new term.
The sun keeps drifting in and out but it hopefully should be dry enough to cut the grass after lunch.
Might investigate buying some stamps for the kids books - they love a stamp or sticker, even the big kids
Don't want to spend too much on them though.
Will also start putting things that won't crease in the case ready for the hols just to make sure that everything I need is clean and dry so I don't forget things.0 -
Had an hour faffing on the Internet and have bought some stamps and stickers for school - £15 plus postage so not too bad. Will take the money out of my refund.
Have also booked some tickets for a couple of events I've been thinking about for a while - a Val McDermid book reading plus the new book (£18) ( went to a book reading about a year ago and really enjoyed it and I've read all of her previous books), another book thing called An Evening with Sarah Milican ( not bothering with a copy of the book for this one but she's entertaining and it's only £12) and a Smiths tribute band gig (seen them before and they're really good and it's only £10 a ticket). So, that's three things to look forward to in sept and oct and none of them really expensive, in fact it's provably cheaper than going to the cinema these days.....
Have put them all in my diary so I don't forget - have made that mistake before.
Feeling quite tired this afternoon so might have a little snooze..... I am on holiday!0 -
Had a 30 min snooze then cut the grass and tidied the back garden. Then read my new book in the bath for a while and walked the dog and managed to pick another tub of blackberries that are now in the freezer.
The allergy thing is slowly getting better but have cried off seeing OH this evening - think another good sleep and slathering in cream should cure me.
Just thinking about what I need to do before going away on Monday so another list follows....0 -

Morning! Had a good sleep (am finally getting out of the waking up at 5am habit) and feel rested. The rash is much better, not perfect but getting there thankfully.
Quite a busy day on the cards today - have a hair appointment this afternoon and am seeing OH tonight, but first I need to walk the dog, do some exercise and get one of the reports written. I'd also like to get a few errands done whilst out and about - get sausages for the dog's holidays (he won't take his tablets unless they're pushed into a mini sausage!), get cash out, take library books back etc.
If I have time I'll Hoover and dust but that coukd wait until tomorrow.
Right, better get started with the dog walk in the park.....0 -
Made good progress so far today - taken the dog to the park, done a training run, bought dog sausages and got cash out for the weekend and getting to the airport etc.
Have also written the big leadership report that I've been putting off for ever!!! Didn't actually take that long once I got started
Just contemplating whether to start the other report (already done the background work for it) or to do something a bit more active like hoovering and dusting rather than sitting down for another couple of hours.....how exciting is my life??
Hair appointment at 4pm so have a couple of hours to fill.....0
