Hi all, hope everyone is well.
Just checking in, I'm still debt free apart from the mortgage. I love logging into my 2 credit cards and seeing zero balances.
My car insurance is due in July, I've had the renewal price from current provider and its £189Never been that low in 20 years of driving (it pays to be old and boring
)
I'll try and beat it but not sure I will (already had a look on 1 comparison site and cheapest was £203)2 -
Excellent news. Are you saving for anything in particular? Hi All
Had my car tax reminder letter, £250 for the yearneed to pay by the 30th
I've started overpaying the mortgage by £500 a month now. If we dont do something we still have 27 years to go and I'll be 65. Overpaying £500 a month will clear it in 15 years when I'll be 53.2 -
Wow thats high car tax mines 165 but I still put 15 a month away towards it maybe set that up for yourself for next year?
500 is a good amount to be paying as extra on your mortgage. Paying off in 50s sounds better than when your 65*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

Going well, really good to be able to pay off the mortgage by 531

Husband is 6 years younger so he'll be mortgage free at 47 which sounds even better
Went for an eye test today, new glasses needed so that's £180 spentI paid on my Barclaycard but only as its a reward card so I can get 90p cashback
I'll pay it off in a couple of days when the transaction clears3 -
