Journey to £0 by 2020, with a few bumps along the way

  • I've got a 2nd interview for the 18 month contract job, not sure when it is yet just waiting to hear
Had a money saving success today, husbands car insurance expires beginning of March. Admiral gave him a renewal price of £750.
I've gone on the comparison sites and cheapest is £570 so told Admiral we wont be renewing with them
Also last year we paid monthly, I think I'll pay the full amount this year. So no 29% interest and that's another monthly direct debit I can cancel!
  • Well done on getting a 2nd interview.  As you say difficult to accept such a large pay cut if you get it but better than benefits. Always cheaper to pay car insurance annually.

You can't do new claims for tax credits now. It would be universal credit.

  • Congrats on the new job that's great news. It's better money then being on benefits that's for sure. Also it will be better on your CV when you go for future jobs if you don't have too big of a gap without work.
You can keep your diary for as long as you want. Debt is debt and if you're gonna be helping hubby out then I'd say yes stick around.
